I am voting for what I have saw over the last two years...a RB who runs soft most of the time, talks crap, and is disruptive. So I say hate it, but wait and see is ok.

Wait and see says I, but he will either make Dixon shape up and break out or he will surpass him, either Gore will get his breather on short yardage, but it'll be hunter to spell him more cause Hunter can break it running or receiving, just can't take a possible long time pounding.

I like the move... could help Dixon pick up a North and South running style. Jacobs works hard and is a team player. 4-8 hard runs a game will keep Gore fresh and help ware down opposing Ds. Maybe he can fill in at Right Guard too

We are trying to get better at every position
Yeah we are! So why downgrade? Jacobs sucks. Remember last year when none of us or the team was scared of him? Because he doesn't bring the pain with all his weight gain.

if you watch all of Dixons runs this season and compare them to last year...then you can see he changed up on the dancing...he has been doing a better job running forward.
I think Dixon has better vision than Jacobs...and better acceleration...as well as being more agile when need be.

I hope these motherf**kers dont think they're going to come in here and have a roster spot given to them. They better have s**t left in the tank and be ready to work and get better if they want to be a 49er.
Moss, I think he will work with last years fiasco giving him an eye-opener.
Cox, I think has the desire.
Jacobs, I don't think he makes the f**king team.

F**k Dixon.
Jacobs is b***h that's going to get our team in some bull s**t with his s**tty ass attitude.
Anyone who thinks he is the same running back from years ago don't follow s**t with the NFL...and this being the 9ersWebzone, I'm not surprised.
Dixon will beat him out, or some other running back will. Jacobs is garbarge.

It's another classic no risk signing.
We may not target a running back in the draft now. I thought for sure they would.
Do you think Anthony Dixon is going to do some extra work on the playbook and assignments? HELL YES.
Jacobs is a load at 264 pounds and even if he's lost a step, he's a good back up to have. He offers something that we don't have.
And if he comes in out of shape with a bad attitude, and Dixon doesn't man up........we will draft a running back in the draft.
More competition for players that they are trying to get better performance out of, not to mention Frank Gore and Hunter are going to come with their A game too.
And it gives us more flexibility if someone goes down. I like it.

"Like it" CONDITIONALLY
1. If his contract has minimal guarantees so he be cut of he is soft or a malcontent
2. He has to prove his value running with power up the middle for short yardage TDs and 1st downs.
(Gore is not breaking tackles like he used to, he pushes hard after contact, but can't push the pile. BJ must prove he can smash through or push the pile.)
LOVE IT -- If he proves to be an excellent relief runner in the 4th quarter to relieve Gore as he tires -- keeping Gore fresh for the next game -- an putting away games with ball control -- something we didn't do well last year.

Could not agree more. I live in NJ and watch most Giants games (so long as they're not on at the same time as our beloved red and gold)...
THIS GUY SUCKS. Hasn't looked good since 2008. Slow, weak runner that runs his mouth every chance he gets.
Now, if anyone can get something out of this washed-up bum, it's Harbaugh and Rathman. But I still hate his attitude and his skill set until further notice.
Quite possibly my most hated player in the league.
