It may not be from Payton's perspective, but it seems that there's bad blood, really bad blood, between Jim Harbaugh and anyone that's trying to beat his football team.
First game for Harbaugh, Payton risks injury to players from both teams. Payton reminds me of a college coach from a big program beating teams like Presbyterian, Little Rock, Albany State etc., by scores of 78-3 to move up his ego in the polls.
I'm really expecting Justin & Aldon to play on another level on Saturday. I dont think Justin has ever been to the playoffs and he seems like the kind of guy that has his best games when its all on the line. Also, I'm pretty sure Aldon saw both Watt and Miller have standout games. Wouldn't doubt if he makes an extra push for Droy and is a little pissed about not getting the sack record. Either way, I dont expect Brees to be comfortable in the pocket like he was with the Lions (from what I saw).

I could see Frank doing this a couple times against the Saints this weekend look at :08 that's pretty much how the Saints D tackles

He played serious and smart plays cuz he know how plays at no pass or don't let him catch the ball. Culliver is very good to tackler tough than Brown. Whitner played well because he don't have talents at defense around and nope for no pass and no hits hard and don't get ints yet. He don't have talent jump for high because he is 5'10 tall.. He gave up that Lloy got a td in 4th quater in last 17 weeks ago.

Whitner is definitely a liability in coverage. he's not the best SS but he's good for now, and he's a veteran leader on the team. good presence to have.

not sure that Cully was the only one cover CJ in Detroit. All of our DB's have been burnt a time or two this year, even Rogers. Brown doesn't get the benefit of the doubt because he wasn't good for several years, but he's pretty good now. Pretty exciting to see a 5th round pick develop into a starter for the best defense in the NFL.
why in the hell would you blitz over and over again in the 1st pre-season game vs the rookie head coach and Alex Smith?? One reason you are a a$$ hole and hate the new rookie Head Coach. And you want to teach him a NFL lesson. This game is going to be a blood bath.

If Harbaugh and Payton met on the street I think everything would be cordial... they might even grab drinks, BUT on the field is a completely different story. Both are extrememly confident, and unrelenting and neither are the type to whine and complain about oponents running up the score or playing to hard etc. because thats how they coach - all out all the time, and that is what will make this game great.

Harbaugh just does his thing and doesn't care what anyone else says or does or how his thing affects them or might hurt their feelings. I honestly don't think he cares what Payton or anyone else thinks or does.

haha love the one sided perspective althought most cases i agree but football isn't so simple, they could be trying a new blitz package, they could be trying a new blitz play in of itself, and i know my attitude going into any football game preseason or not, win the game i don't care how as long as it's within the rules, dirty? no. aggressive? yes. i have no problem with what payton did and it revealed a major flaw in our offense (fixed a little late but it was done before the steelers game, thats a plus)

i was reminded the other day that Justin went to the playoffs with the Bengals in '05--to which I replied that it doesn't count because that is a loser organization.

but i agree he's going to have a big game. He's been our MVP and I see no reason for that to stop now. there are SO many guys on this team who have been waiting for a stage like this. I can't wait to see how they respond.

I am okay with whatever teams want to do in a game, but make no mistake, when you pull crap like they pulled in that 1st pre-season game there was a reason. You don't see what they did in the 1st pre-season game thats a fact. Watch the replay of that game. Trust me there was a reason for all the blitzs. Durning the reg season and playoffs that one thing even in some pre-season games at the end of preseason, but in the 1st pre-season game with a new rookie head coach, there is a reason and its personal. I remember that game and they were talking about it after the game. Pay back in the NFL is a b***h.
You can bet if Harbaugh gets the chance he'll shove it right where the moon don't shine. Little Shuanie will have to raid the medicine cabinet for a vicodin again.
The weather will not be a factor in this game. IMO there are a couple of factors that will determine the outcome of this game.

1. Turnovers - you can say this about ever game though. 9ers are 1 in the league at takeaways so the saints will need to protect the ball.
2. Can the 9ers score touchdowns instead of field goals? The saints give up yards however they are playing good D on 3rd downs and scoring D. They've givin up yards bc they have played in a lot Of blowout games and they played soft late in those games in order to not give up the big play.
3. Can the saints contain Gore? Lately they have been playing good run D however Gore is a great back. I also think V Davis can be a game changer. He will have to keep the saints honest and not loading up to stop the run. The saints are deep at CB and Greer is very underrated so I think the saints will make Smith make some throws to win this game.

The 9ers have a great D but the Saints have been running the ball effectively and they have the best passing game in the league. Now, I don't believe the Saints will rush for 150-200 yards but the 9ers will have to respect their run game. I don't feel like the 9ers will be able to consistantly put pressure on Brees. Key word consistantly. They will make some plays, they are a great D but the saints have the best OLine in the league. They have so many weapons on O and drew will find the mismatches and the saints run game will keep the 9ers honest. I feel the Saints will put up 27-31 points on Saturday and the 9ers will not be able to match that. My prediction 31-13 Saints.
