Inspired by Harbaugh's "we ask no quarter, we get no quarter" statement to reporters earlier this week, surviving Led Zeppelin members Robert Plant, Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones announced they would reunite and play a free concert at Golden Gate Park should the 49ers win their sixth Super Bowl.

They could, but I think the odds are against them.

I think the Saints Defense is NOT good enough... giving up 5 yards a carry on the season and they rely to much on the passing game. History has shown that top passing offenses usually falter in the playoffs. Last night amid all the excitement I looked up the most yards passing single season rankings. As I went down the list I was more and more surpised... the highest ranking QB as far as single season yardage to win the super bowl the same year as the prolific passing season was Kurt Warner in 99... Warner's passing stats rank - 45. The top 44 QB's in terms of single season passing yards didn't win the Superbowl the year they threw for all those yards.

I have a strange feeling that the 49ers are going to win handily. Most, if not all, analysts are calling for a close game, but here are a couple of reasons why I think the 49ers are going to win by more than ten points:

1. Willis and Bowman are a freakishly good pair of middle linebackers who have the capacity to neutralize Sproles and Graham.
2. The crowd noise, more than the turn, are going to be *huge*. I was fortunate enough to be at the Niners-Giants game this year, and the crowd definitely played a role in the 49ers' victory on that day.
3. The 49ers' improving red zone offense. I think that a lot is made of the 49ers ranking not very favorably in terms of yards gained. My counter to that is that the 49ers have been consistently given incredible field position because of their defense and special teams. Secondly, they have moved the ball fairly well between the 20s throughout the season.
4. Their offense is actually ascending at the right time. One of the reasons everything from this point forward to me is gravy is that absolutely nobody expected that the 49ers would be this good this early into the Harbaugh regime. Harbaugh, a couple of weeks ago, suggested that QBs in his system need two years before they are proficient at the reads. Vernon Davis the other day mentioned that he was initially confused with his roles and responsibilities in this system. We are watching before our eyes the team beginning to "grock" the system, and I think that this is going to be the huge "x" factor in this game. I think the 49ers are going to click and put up 31 points.
5. The 49ers' offensive line, I believe, wants to exact serious revenge for the b*!ll s*it the Saints pulled on the 49ers in the first game of the pre-season. Harbaugh has played this perfectly publicly, but I would hazard a guess that behind closed doors, they have let this fester. If the Niners get up big, I can almost see a repeat of the Stanford/USC pile-on. I also had not known before this week that Payton was the scab quarterback that filled in for Harbaugh, which I imagine has also on some level festered.

Tomorrow should be epic.

I agree with everyone of your bullet points but I disagree with the winning easily thing. Close game, alex drives us, crabtree makes a big catch, we kick a field goal and host the giants in another week
