Interesting stats you may want to look at...

49ers
65/221 on 3rd = 29.4% (31st)
76/216 on 3rd = 35.2% (11th) allowed on defense

Saints
118/208 on 3rd = 56.7% (1st)
67/202 on 3rd = 33.2% (5th) allowed on defense

Interesting stat you may want to look at...

Compare the QBs faced. Eli, Romo with a broken rib, Big Ben on one leg, and a bunch of whos? Its lopsided.

Rodgers, Cutler, Schaub, Ryan twice, Newton twice, Stafford (twice with playoffs), Eli

Gore and Hunter are a pretty nasty combo. If you haven't followed or watched Hunter he will impress. Vernon is Vernon and can do almost anything if his hands show up with the rest of him. Kyle Williams has been great in his limited playing time, he was buried on the depth chart until Edwards got hurt and missed a lot of games. Very elusive player with another gear when he gets into open space. Truth be told not many know our guys outside of Gore and Vernon. We just don't get a lot of media coverage.

Yeah, I'm familiar. I've watched every 49ers game this season. Gore is averaging 4.3 yards per carry and has 8 TDs this season. Hunter is averaging 4.2 yards per carry and has 2. Hunter looked good against Seattle in change-of-pace duties. Neither have me shaking with fear, though of course they are very talented.

Kyle Williams has a bright future, but he's not the kind of guy who keeps a defensive coordinator up at night.

Vernon Davis is probably the closest thing on your offense. And he's going against a defense that faces Jimmy Graham in practice every day. And he has a QB in his first playoff start chucking him the ball.

Anyone know how many guys on the 49ers have played in a playoff game before? I can't find the stats on that.

Justin Smith and Akers are the only ones that I can think of. Most of these guys are home grown so they dont have much experience in the post season.

Williams if he can stay healthy might turn into a nasty threat down the line. You gotta remember this is still a new system for the O so they haven't hit the full potential of the system. What you have to look at, although they don't "scare" you, they have done enough to go 13-3 and every team has said the same thing you have.

J. Smith, Akers, Jennings, Goodwin, Peelle, Gooden, Rogers, M. Williams, Spillman, Ginn, Swain

Im watching last years game right now and Bush SMOKED Willis on a option route. If you don't know, Sproles was an UPGRADE.

First of all, Julius Jones playing for Pierre Thomas was not a big deal. Jones played better than Thomas did last year. And you bringing up that you didn't have Sproles would be like me bringing up that the Seahawks didn't have Doug Baldwin or Richard Sherman. And the 2011 49ers D is just a wee bit better than the 2010 Seahawks D. But even if your offense plays as well outdoors on grass as they do in their dome (which statistically, they don't btw), it's the defense that should play much worse - again, Gore is probably licking his chops when he sees that Lynch play on film. You allowed 41 points and over 420 yards to a Seahawks offense that finished 23rd in points scored per game (19.4) and 28th in yards gained per game (297.8 yards per game). You allowed Matt Hasselbeck, who threw 12 touchdown passes all year, to throw for 4. As for the weather conditions, it may not be freezing, but it should be windy, which affects a passing game even more.

You bringing up last years Seattle game is like me bringing up SF record last year. It doesn't matter!! This is a totally different team. And no way JJ is as good as P Thomas. Ivory was also hurt that game. Who is JJ playing for this year? I'm not even gonna get into why the saints lost that game. The got beat and it has no effect on the game sat. Since we are bringing up '10 let's bring '09. The saints won the SB, what was SF record? Hell, we might be in trouble bc SF was dominate in the 80's.

Im sorry did the 9ers win more games against NFL teams then the Saints?

If I had to guess I'd say the Saints are 14-3 and the 9ers are 13-3 ATM.

Really? They pulled D starters with the 2 seed on the line?

We had a harder strength of schedule

Damn you got us on that one, oh noooo

I'm asking a serious question. It's been nine years since the 9ers went to the playoffs, so it's a legit concern.

Akers, of course. Goodwin.

Playoff experience is the most overrated piece of garbage I have ever heard of. Tebow had all of that playoff experience to take down Big Ben and the Steelers right? Rodgers faced a team who had won 2 super bowls in last years title game and still came out on top.

Exactly. He should know from his '09 Saints. They had only made the playoffs once in the previous 8 years yet won the Super Bowl, having beaten Super Bowl winning quarterbacks in all 3 postseason games. The '08 Cards hadn't made the playoffs in 10 years and they almost won it all.
Man, f**k the Saints.

This is ignorant for so many reasons.

Its easy to beat 3 Super Bowl winning QBs when you have Brees. Smith? Not so much.
