would that be the Michigan way? Surely he wouldnt sign a playoff team for that.

Yes. But for the previous poster, he wasnt just cut for the fun of it. This is part of a move, rely on it. They either intend to promote a practice squad player or sign a FA.

Sign T.O for 2 games and the potential of another 2 games in the playoffs with an option of next year. If he pulls through for the remaining games this year then pick up the option for him next year or cut him or retire him as a 9er.

He might have had an attitude problem or something. To release him now, with being so thin at WR, just doesn't make a whole lot of sense.
