The reason I'm not planning to tailgate is because I'm only going with a couple of close friends. We've never been to a 49er game before (or NFL game for that matter) and we don't really know how tailgating is done. We just want a smooth experience and don't want to try anything too bold, haha. Maybe if we become regulars like you guys, we'll be more comfortable tailgating.
If you get in way early 2 like 2 hours before game time they will be warming up and once and while they will talk to kids then, your best bet is after the game over north east corner of the staidum you might catch them leaving, my son and I caught Bill Walsh there for a hand shake!
