Has our pass rush regressed?

Our pass rush was existent early in the season but I just really haven't noticed it the past couple weeks. Without that pass rush, the secondary suffers just a bit especially against teams like GB and NO.

If Fangio is trying to keep his exotic blitzes for the playoffs, he might have to unleash some of that against the Steelers.
We are 9-2, and the scheme has in no way contributed to our losses. The Cowboys loss came because people in our secondary fell down on TD passes or made absurd attempts to undercut a route instead of playing the ball. In the Baltimore game we had the Ravens to 16 points. If we lose a playoff game because of a lack of pass-rush, I will be the first to say that Fangio is not doing his job. Supposing that Fangio has creative blitzes in his back pocket, why show his hand now? If we can play vanilla and hold the Ravens in Baltimore, why would you think we couldn't hold a gimpy Roethlisberger at home?

There's a reason why we play vanilla: our offense isn't good enough to score quickly, if we become over-aggressive and give up the big play. You don't need to scheme for success when you're leading the league in the turnover ratio. We do well in so many categories outside of pass-rushing that any talk of changing the scheme is premature, especially when we sit 9-2

Good question.

No, the pass rush hasn't regressed. The D is also learning new things and I feel holding back some surprise packages.

However, I do feel we need one or two more high quality DL players in the rotation. It's a long season and top tier teams have top tier OLines that can keep our D on the field longer which can be very tiring. More quality DLine personnel will keep them fresher for the long haul and maintain the heat on the opposition.

I think this is a good point. We have some guys who could develop into nice players in the rotation but I'd like to see another vet type role player be added in offseason
Just because we are not sacking the QB, doesn't mean we are regressing. Players need to make plays. What I noticed is that several times in the last three games is that they lose containment.

They have gotten pressure and caused the QB to throw early or throw picks. If they can maintain containment they could have gotten the sacks. The last three QBs aren't exactly Vick or Newton like.
The Ravens have a pretty good offensive line, they are big and physical. PLus they have a pretty nasty FB in the backfield. Aldon Smith and Justin Smith kept pushing all game, the effort was there. So I think it's more that the Ravens' O-line played very well, not that our pass rush regressed. The Steelers are a bit different story. Although they have some good players on the O-line, as a unit they have had a lot of injuries this year. I don't think we'll have quite the same problems with them.
not sure but your english has

i LOVE talk like a pirate day!!!!!!! ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRG
We only rush 4 because we dont have a secondary that can consistently lock down WR's during a blitz with safeties that are better vs the run compared to the pass. 4 passrushers vs 5 O-lineman & a RB doesnt allow for consistent pressure, but our DL is still doing a great job being outmanned in the trenches nearly every play.
I honestly don't think they are holding anything back. While the team is still running a 3-4 and a similar scheme to last year there really has not been any time to implement more than the base packages and maybe that is what we are seeing more of. Having essentially 6 new starters slows the process down a bit as well. I don't think things will get creative until next season. This season is a bit of an anomaly as you are not supposed to have this kind of success in what is essentially a transition year for the team.
I don't think it has regressed but just evened out.
