But I'm sure Harbaugh is using this as some kind of angle to motivate the team.
The London game last year wasn't a home game was it? Thought Denver took the lost home game.
I believe it was counted as a Niner home game, just on a neutral field. Part of that league desire to make the NFL worldwide. My understanding is that, because the team basically stayed out there the whole week, we got a lot of support from the Brits, so we did have somewhat of a home field advantage. Although, I'm sure the Niner fans in SF had to be ticked that you lost an opportunity to actually go to a game.
The short time between the games plus the travel do not help, but there's another way of looking at it: if(when!) we win, then we can point to this game and say that we beat one of the top teams in the league, in their house, and on short rest, doubters be damned.
I was there... Europeans don't know s**t about "football". They cheer when anyone scores, they don't give a s**t who is actually scoring.
I was there too. And there were a lot of people who know a great deal about football and have followed the game for 30 years.
But if you think about it for a second, it should become clear that there were fans of every NFL team there. Hence the cheering for scoring. That does not mean that they know jack sh*t.
And by the way, everyone I spoke to and the TV commentators as well said that the 49ers got better support than they were getting at home games.
I saw a guy wearing a #88 Jerry Rice jersey!!! I even have a picture of it!We were 1-7 or so at that point last year also.
One guy in a #88 Rice shirt. Well, I am convinced. Europeans know nothing about football.
We were 1-7 or so at that point last year also.
