They need to give teams a bye before playing on Thursday.

I was thinking the same thing, honestly. Four teams had a bye last week? Though I remember the bye coming at a perfect time earlier in the season, a buy Week 10 would be much better for today's game...

It's exactly about what I said it'd be about -- pass rush. Whoever had the better pressure and/or protection would win. Ravens have both. Barring a huge defensive play, we will lose this game.

But to have one team play a short week AND go across country 3 time zones, that sucks. The only thing that will happen tomorrow if we lose is that we know Baltimore can beat us if we have a long plane ride and with 1 and 1/2 days to prepare. That's all it will show. If we win, then they are a distinctly inferior team. Meaning: no matter what Balt does, they can't win. This isn't and wasn't a fair contest. Sure, you want this matchup, but there's absolutely no reason it couldn't have been played on Sun. Then it's fair. Like this, Balt loses no matter who wins. I am a little suprised baalke, JH and Yorks didn't challenge this stupidity.
One other thing. The NFL should be ashamed of themselves, esp the commish, for letting this happen. I bet they don't pull this one again...on us, or on anyone else. I want to see this game as bad as everyone else. But on equal footing, and this b.s. isn't equal. Screw NFL network. If they want the game so bad, put it on Saturday or Sun...but not Thurs. I would have said the same thing had Ravens had to come here, about unfairness, and 9ers couldn't win even if they did win. In this case, Ravens can't win.
I am all out convinced that the NFL Big-wiggs, namely Roger, don't want to see a niner resurgence, hate the 49ers, and have so since the late 90's.
I'm beginning to see why NFL players hate this nut sack. It was clear to me and my wife (who don't lilfe football because I coach football) from the first O and D series that the team was tired. C. Rogers nor D. Goldson wasn't breaking on balls as quick, the D line wasn't getting up field as fast, Gore wasn't hitting the holes as fast, Hunter didn't get to the edge as fast, and a fatigued - clearly fatigued - O line got exposed. The Raven or the league shouldn't take anything away from this game other than the fact that they won, and they can thank the league for that. Now I'm sure the Rams don't want to play a rested salty 49ers team and I hope the niners stomp them. But more important to me is that we make a huge statement against the Steelers in 3 weeks to shut up the Deon Sanders and Cocain Irvin of the world. No team should be forced to play on Thursday if they played that previous Sunday. "Protect the Shield"? Bullsh*t
Roger G. is pissing on the integrity of the game for financial expedience.

Stop with the conspiracy theories. No one said a word of it when we were on a 8 game winning streak.

Watched the game up at a cabin in Tahoe with some family this weekend. Gotta say, the team looked very sluggish and tired, and the fatigue was terribly obvious as the 2nd half wore on. Simply put, we learned that the Ravens can beat a tired 49er team at home when having a 1 day preparation advantage (the Wednesday travel meant that SF practiced/installed for a whole day (Tuesday) while the Ravens got 2 (Tues/Wed - or Mon/Wed, depending on which day was their mandatory off day).
Add in a couple of bad breaks (Ginn TD called back, PI on INT) and a defense that played good but did not really deliver a game changing moment with a turnover like they usually do, and you had this 16-6 loss.
Something to learn from? Sure. And the 49ers might want to think about drafting a WR in the 1st round again because they need one to compliment Crabtree's style, but overall the overreactions on this (and other) site's are ridiculous.
This is a good team. They're 9-2. And when prepared (read: not a week where they have one day of practice/install) they play well.

Well, the one thing I didn't account for is getting humiliated. Not scorewise, but hell, anybody but a Martian would have known the guys in red and gold got their azzes kicked, and I mean really kicked. So Ravens did win after all, because they just DOMINATED us...both O and D. I was mad initially, but after some thot, actually am okay with the outcome. We learned that OL can't recognize cross rushing, nor blitzes. Nor do they know what to do when they occur. One thing Coach has already seen in review is that he had no business throwing anything but 1 steppers to slow down that passrush. Had he done that, alex would have been a lot better off, same for the team. The other obvious thing was that at end of 2nd qtr, JH had the 2 min drill on, and Ravens were back on their heels, we had them, and then, mysteriously, we never saw the no huddle again. Ravens are really dependent on changing out their guys. When they had to play no huddle, those guys were gassed....and we moved the ball. Next time, we should play entire game that way. Bet $100 that Coach saw that too.
The good news is we got the wake up call that we are not the 2nd best team in the league. More importantly, Coach has to teach the OL what i mentioned above. Lastly, it is a D wake up call, because flacco played unmolested all dam day. And he took us apart. Tighter coverage, more blitz, esp SS or CB blitz would have helped immensely . We play again and Fangio plays off 6-8 yds on receivers, we're gonna lose again. All this is info for Coach to file away and use against both Pitts and in playoffs. Wouldn't it be wild to see the Ravens again this season? Take a lot of upsets, but it could happen. I would bet on us next time, but we would have to have a healthy OL. As for chilo, either he gets it this yr, or he was a bust. There still is time for coach to bring him along, but he was a doormat on game day.
Sure, I wanted the win, but the info we got from this and where we have to get better, is worth a ton. Next time we play a big D, with good O, I suspect we will see a different 49ers team out there. We know Coach can do it. I honestly believe we may have gotten a bit complacent, but still, the Thurs nite game across country...that should be the last time that happens...to anyone..Oh, and the Ravens really did win....a royal crushing even with advantages, counts as a good win for them. Can't wait til we see them again, hopefully in Feb.
Some of this may be jekyll and hyde, because they just lost to SEA of all people (and one other stoner team), but beat Steelers twice. Shows they can get up for big games and let little ones get by.

Set the games within divisions and time zones. Could have been SF/Seattle, not a good game but doesn't penalize either team too much...short plane trip. And when the games were planned who would have guessed Balt/SF would be a big game? Seattle and SF might be interesting given the coaches past games, both NFL and PAC 24 (or whatever it is now).
