Harbaugh and Baalke were not getting along, and he backed the wrong guy. I'm just glad he recognized it sooner rather than later and made a point to not have such a contentious relationship between GM and HC. (Even if he had backed Harbaugh it's possible the right GM to fit with Harbaugh is never found, anyway).

Just stay the hell out of the way like he is now. He isn't Eddie D. I think he's came to that realization. Generally speaking, the common fan won't relate to him cause he was born with a golden spoon and didn't have to earn his $$$. Fans just want him to let ShannyLynch do their thing, and stay in the background... like he is now

That was Eddie D., too, you know.

He's not the guy who tried to fire Bill Walsh on a near-weekly basis leading Walsh to retire prematurely because he was worn down by all the BS?

We talking about Jed or Eddie D?
Jed was still pretty young when the family handed him the reins of the franchise. He made a lot of early mistakes like many owners do but he kept trying until he hit on Shanny and Lynch. During that time, he also managed to get a new stadium built ( along with help from others) without public money. I know he moved them from SF which pissed off a lot of fans but Eddie and Carmen had been trying for years to get a new one built in SF but the city wouldn't or couldn't give them a good deal. At least he kept the team in the state and within driving distance for the fans. It's actually closer for most fans. At first there were all kinds of complaints about the stadium but I noticed they kind of disappeared when the team started winning. Now the new stadium is proving to be a good home field advantage that holds the crowd noise really well. New memories and legends will be made there for all the young fans so they can look back some day like we do at Candlestick. I say thanks Jed for not moving the team to LA or Vegas and thanks for getting a 1st class stadium built.
Needs to stay under a rock until they win at least 2 SBs, don't want to see his little head pop up until then. Was good to see him humble on Sunday on the podium, but I'd rather not see him at all.
I thank Denise for Kyle Shanahan . But I also thank Jesus for listening to her

If he celebrated, you know who would've said he celebrated like he just won the SB lol

This and the FO and team was a dysfunctional mess for most of his tenure.
It was his fault.

He also deserves credit for building the current culture.
Kyle seems to genuinely like Jed, not just a I like you cause your my boss. I don't get that type of vibe from Kyle or John when they're around Jed or talks to him. Which is a good thing.

Fans always loved Eddie. Maybe he was born rich, but the perception of Eddie was different. I was at the game years ago when he was honored at half. Fans went ballistic for Eddie D

Eddie brought the Niners to prominence... I don't think Jed will ever get that love from the masses

Eddie had that intangible quality, i think, the hey i can get a beer with this guy thing that made him extremely beloved.
Jed definitely does not have that and i think he realizes it and its ok. I give him a ton of credit for what he has done. Esp with some people so determined not to give him credit.
Honestly he will never be loved like eddie but i think he has outgrown that desire to be adored like him and started making the right moves in the here and now.
Good job Jed.

If Jed gets 5 more Lombardies, I ***GUARANTEE*** you everybody will love him as much as Eddie or even more!

Good post... the stories about Eddie from former players and employees about him being first class are awesome to hear. He did have that intangible...

Jed is doing exactly what he needs to do. Stay behind the scenes. He hired a dynamite team, finally, and he needs to ride this as long as he can. Went through some dark times with Dr. York, and then post Harbaugh. Jed had to of learned a lot of lessons
are we done hating on this guy now?

The guy still makes me nervous. I don't trust him yet due to the history. However, it won't take a full 5 for a strong endorsement from me.
