I don't believe Chip Kelly was paid by UCLA AND the niners.

I would be surprised if they didn't just pay it all up front upon his termination. The Niners are absolutely loaded with cash.
It deserves to be said...

THANK YOU Jed York for crushing it with John Lynch and Kyle Shanahan!

I don't think NCAA contracts mitigate an NFL one.

Absolutely, he has got this one spot on, you can see that deep down he wants to be like his uncle.

Just had to get out of his own way, looking good for now. Kudos Jed

NOT CLASSY JED!
Not sure what thread this should be in, but I'm pretty sure no NFL team has EVER built 2 completely separate SB teams in the same decade. Staley is the only player from 2012. Different coaches, GM, even stadium, lol. In all honesty, I was one of the many clamoring for Jed to go after Harbaugh left, but this is a HUGE accomplishment.

We don't have a SB team yet.
I think Jed learned from his past mistakes. He took a chance on hiring GM Lynch and then stayed out of the way allowing the FO, i.e. ( " the Sha-Lyn Masters " ) enough time and leeway to build a team according to their vision.....oh, yea they spent some $$ on getting some talent also.

Call it a NFCCC team then. Doesn't change the fact it's never been done.
Let's not get carried away now. We are at the beginning of something good. We were at the beginning of something good with Harbaugh too and things got mismanaged and spun into disarray fast. It was only this Summer when there were suddenly 'rumors' from the front office of cracks in the relationship between Shanny and Lynch, to which both sternly and flatly denied. The real test is the first rough season after winning. Does York throw the baby out with the bath water, or does he take his lumps from the unhappy fans, realize he has a very good thing with Shanny and Lynch, and back them until things improve? How he manages though external adversity in a short term downturn is the real test of his mettle. If he backs these guys through thick and thin, we very well could be on the way to another dynasty. Then he deserves all the praise in the world and from myself included.

If you want to speculate on York's intentions, I could just as easily say he hired Tomsula and Kelly with the intention of losing in order to get draft picks to improve the team. Matter of fact he all but admitted it. Bottom line: the results. I'll hold back until we hoist the trophy, but name a team that wouldn't WISH for that success.
