Nobody is getting their panties in a bunch. It's a just a simple conversation. I just don't see the "evidence" of Denise being some brilliant mind that stepped out from the shadows to save the 49ers all that convincing. When has she ever been some HC/GM hiring guru? From my recollection she cared so little about the team 20 years ago when she took over she let her husband run the ship to rather bad results.
its hilarious that people want to discredit Jed so much that they're willing to believe that the same people who hired Erickson, Nolan, etc all of a sudden are geniuses who demanded the hiring of ShanaLynch. like who gives a s**t. Jed deserves credit for fixing his f**k ups.

If that's the case he also deserves "credit" for running us into the ground for years and years and years.

The last time Jed had something going in the right direction he got into an argument with the coaching staff, fired people, didn't want to pay a good coach a raise and proceeded straight to the bottom.

There is no reason that can't happen here. He has not shown any ability at all to keep a good thing going in the past. In fact his history shows he dismantled it on his way straight to the bottom.

No one is saying Jed can't also be blamed for his part in the Harbaugh departure. But one should also acknowledge he's trying to avoid repeating it. There's a pretty obvious reason Jed insisted on a HC/GM arrangement that didn't have the always abrasive personalitites of Harbaugh and Baalke involved.

Shanahan is a far better well rounded HC than Harbaugh ever was, IMO.

Reread my last sentence. He deserves credit for fixing his obvious f**k ups in the past. Sheesh.

And remember, Shanny gave Jed some hard questions prior to accepting the hire. Shanny knows whats up.

I don't think he is much better. A head coach is a product of his personnel too. I don't think Harbaugh ever had a pass rush like this although it was good in that time era. This pass rush is off the charts outstanding. He was also working with Alex Smith. Although well liked and a hard worker he is a very far cry from Jimmy G. It's not even in the same category IMO. To make NFC Championship games and the Super Bowl with what Harbaugh had is absolutely incredible. It's almost impossible. But somehow he did it. It was amazing really.

I blame Baalke the most. His lips always looked really tight. I don't trust people who's lips look tight, just saying

Oh good grief. Nice rewrite.

There always comes a day when a self entitled spoilt brat realises he screwed the pooch big time and now has to grow up. I am optimistic with his progress and although relapse is never dismissed entirely from the prognosis I am not reaching for my emotional support dog at the moment and rubbing the fur on his back in a rapid but slightly creepy manner. I shall wait for an appropriate sign before I call out "Here boy"

I probably have more confidence in Denise, who is after all, the owner and has Mr DeBartolo senior's blood in her veins.

Yes I read the post above about how she may be stepping in to yank on the reigns now and then. I would think Jed's management of the franchise is his training ground to step up to manage their bigger business ventures later in life so he already has made his mistakes and is ready to manage the big money investments and not squander them with silly calls.
I wasn't too upset with the Harbaugh firing, because the offense had gotten to be so atrocious under him. Can you imagine a Shannahan team that couldn't get a first down? Kyle had this team moving even with a bunch of undrafted players leading the way.

Harbaugh inheireted a really talented team, and he was certainly a competent coach. The turn around may have been due to how bad Singletary and Jimmy Raye were.
The Curse of JED is Now Broken

Exhibit #3 - "Next Man Up" has really come through this year when the injury bug stuck... never have I seen backup players emerge as I have this year with Skule, Brunskill, Mosely, and to a certain extent Moore...

Denise is more competent and certainly experienced than Jed. I would rather have her making the big decisions.
