I disagree... this is exactly how we want it: getting no credit & flying under the radar.

National respect will not be given until it's earned in the playoffs... and we WILL get their respect.
We may not get recognition until we show up in the playoffs and win, then we might get it. I don't think that the team cares what anyone thinks as long as they win. They don't care if they win ugly or win pretty as long as they win. Until we win something I don't care either. IF we beat NY, Baltimore, and Pittsburgh, win the division and win some playoff games then we will get a little bit of recognition just like the Niners of old.

Say what? We are beating playoff teams more than those "top" teams are. Most folks ONLY reason that our record is the way it is is by them saying we are in the NFC West. Seriously, WTF is that? Yet, they say the AFC North is the strongest division yet we beat two of those teams already.

What I don't understand is that NOONE mentions that the AFC North could possible be "strong" because they have played the NFC West.

DET got mad respect when they were 5-0 and were labeled up there with GB.

No one is putting us up there because they don't see us having any game breakers completely forgetting that we HAVE game breakers but don't need to force feed them to win.

The "experts" doubt because Alex Smith is still considered a bust and not a good qb. These experts are conditioned to think you need an elite qb to be truly good. Since Alex its not elite they are all waiting for the inevitable drop from grace. I will be interested to hear what they think in January.....
The thing i hear a lot of living on the east coast is "49ers are 7-1, but look at what division they're in, it would be easy for anyone to have that record"

Do people not realize we only had 1 division game so far?

You know....what's more frustrating than having doubters In the media, or getting no coverage on the networks, is seeing a 49ers segment coming up on the ticker, and then right before they get to it, it'll go to a commercial, and when they return it's no longer even on the ticker..

Every freaking week, multiple times..

This! I don't know how many times I gotta see Giants beat Patriots, Packers beat Chargers...heck, even Broncos "upset" Raiders. We're 7-1 (4-0 on the east coast) and barely a mention at the bottom ticker for score updates. Even bothered to watch Deion's Top 10 or whatever the f*** it's called and no mention of Gore's 100+ yards for 5 straight games, a rookie FB (converted DE/LB) catching his first TD, etc. Makes me
Deion's such a joke: "Look good, play good; play good, pay good; pay good, live good; live good, eat good; eat good, die good."

Words to live by!

Yesterday, he picks Philly as the only NFC team that could possibly beat GB, not the Niners.

Makes you wonder if he even knows that the Niners beat Philly.
I think the perception is that if your QB throws for less than 250 yards, he has had a bad game. They look at the stats but dont see the improvement in Alex Smith.

No.

Because its all circular. We are not getting love because nobody actually wants to waste their research time on the Niners. The Niners don't deserve their research time because we are not getting any love.

This is how it is actually possible to make money betting on the NFL, because odds are based on general public perception, and general public relies on the talking heads.

Of course none of us can make money on the Niners because its a golden rule in betting not to bet big money on a team you are emotional about

We are the quietest 2nd best record in the NFL. We will get coverage after this weekend cuz it's NYG. Probably more if we lose, though, to be honest.

I'm cool with no coverage for now. When we are the #2 seed and have a home game, they will have to talk about us.

Yeah if we lose...it will be..."see I knew the 49ers weren't for real. 7-2 NFC West losers lulolololololol weak divishun lolololol now back to the Iggles, Cowboyz, Steelers, Vick Vick, Rothlesberger, Rex Ryan, Romo, Vick, Brady, Manning's neck, roll credits."
"Flying under the radar is silly". The team is a very good team, and nobody is unaware of this team by this point. It doesn't really matter what the
"experts" say at this point, and we don't need "love" from anyone. We need to continue winning. Period. I'll take wins over "love" any day.
It's worst than not getting love, guys like Deion and Irvin are flat out laugh at us. Not that I value their opinon, but it's really disrespectful.

what are you talking about, deion said we are for real
Let them kiss the Packers ass and drool all over Tim Tebow like they have been all season , we'll just keep busting up other teams until the playoffs roll along.

But the bandwagon will be full after we beat up The Giants

It mattered to me before but the more we win the less I care. Until we start throwing for a zillion yards a game nobody will give us any credit. Meanwhile we can still sneak up on teams.

At this point I hope they don't say anything about us until the playoffs.
