I hope I'm wrong but no way we're going 15-1. I love where this team is headed and I love what they've done so far, but there are gonna be a few games that we lose.

I agree that Bayless is a prick and it is unrealistic. The team with the best record has not won the superbowl in years. The Saints,Packers,Giants, Colts did not have the best record when they won the championship and I don't think the Steelers had the best record either when they won recently. 10-6 and a championship is good enough for me.
I don't assume I am the only one, but everytime I see or hear Mangini I want to kick him in the mangina. Just sayin'...

Those are the three hardest games remaining on the schedule. If we can take care of business in those, maybe. We also need to win the other games that should be wins, obviously...

It's very possible for us to go 15-1, but it's also very possible for us to go 11-5.

On one hand, we're finding ways to win, and that's a great intangible. Coupled with top-notch coaching, an improving offense, and a weak schedule, the sky is the limit for the team.

On the other hand, we DO have a weakness with the passing game. This is a passing league, and teams will begin to key in on the fact that we're a running team.

In my opinion, not specifically predicting any individual games, I think we're going to go 12-4, assuming no major injuries. I agree that the passing game hasn't been... dominant. But we're playing to our strengths (running offense, defense), and we're still improving our offense. I think 15-1 is a huge leap (certainly possible), but I think we're going to have a few eventual bumps in the road.

I wouldn't exactly call our passing game a weakness. We pass when we want to and the plays that are called when we do pass are freaking awesome. We WANT teams to key on the run. Remember, we aren't randomly passing and calling random passing plays because this one looks prettier than the other as we have done in the past. We are taking ANY formations that produced some nice runs during the game, using that same formation, and executing a high percentage pass play producing great matchups for our personnel.

I would say the PHI game is the one game where we pulled more of our arsenal in the passing game and even that game, we didn't deviate from the run. We aren't a 3-WR air-it-out predictable passing team. We have 2 of the league's most difficult to match against tight ends which causes HUGE issues for opponents. We don't need to change personnel if they stuff our run. If they stuff our run, that means they have their run-stopping personnel. All we do is throw one to Delanie or Vernon...case closed.

The NYG game is in SF. They play Washington on the road, but I think it'll be an easier game with Beck in and after they just lost a RB for the season and Moss for 5-7 weeks with a broken hand.
What we've seen each week is a game plan specifically designed to attack an oppositions weaknesses (e.g. classic Walsh-like) and with that, more additions to the playbook on both offense and defense.

We've seen wins with ST's (returns, kicking and coverage) and clock-management, runs off tackle, then runs in between the tackle, a spread, TO's, pass rush, run defense, etc. Each week we should continue to learn and grow...now we are getting Edwards back, Crabtree is emerging, Hunter, Miller, Goodwin and the whole line is developing (an attitude), we'll need to incorporate more VD, etc. On defense, Sopoaga, Brooks & Smith will only get better and we have a developing Culliver and Spencer will now have to earn a starting spot, etc.

This team is already believing, even if they are down 20+, they can come back = confidence.

As long as we avoid Freddy P. Soft and continue to game-plan properly, we have a real shot to go 12-4. There is always one blowout game and a couple close losses but really, we should learn from these and could end up being a blessing in disguise for a young, developing team!
Bayless shoould be ignored, even if he occasionally says something nice. Heck, even when he says something positive it is extreme & overstated.

Take off Seattle and add Pittsburgh and I'd agree.

15-1 is silly talk, Skip Bayless has a job on the national level by saying ridiculous, controversial things. It's a Freddie P. Soft move to predict we're going to run the table. Freddie P. Bayless too, maybe.

We have won a couple of extremely close games that could have gone either way, and that film breakdown showed just what a squeaker the Detroit game was. Literally less than an inch between Delanie Walker's knee and the turf on a 4th goal with misread coverage? That'll turn your hair gray.
The post about "teams will begin to key in on the fact that we're a running team."... when was the last time we werent a running team? Defenses always try to stop the run first against this team, the difference is this year the team has running plays that were designed to create mismatches, not simply line up and try to run through a 9-man box. Shifts, unbalanced lines, the jumbo package... all ways to get the advantage on the ground and this team has been using it to perfection since the eagles game.

They were not only designed to create a mismatch, but those running formations/personnel were designed to create mismatches when we decide to pass also.

Why is everyone counting the Steelers game at home as an easy win? Steelers are always a tough team to play. I'm not saying we can't/won't beat them, just that a lot of people are forgetting about them.
