Hate the raiders but as a gambler myself I love the move. Risk the future to win now. They have a young team and now a proven qb that I would take over smith.

Don't hate the Raiders at all. If Carson plays like he did more than two years ago, they're a team that has all the pieces for a SB run. The Niners don't.
That said, IMO the Niners have the better coaching . . . so far.

Last year Carson played like crap, comeplete utter crap. T.O. is outta football and no one is signing him Chad Johnson is umm playing like crap too.
My point is; can we put complete blame on Carson's crap year completely on him?

49ers, easily. AFC has too many good teams for Raiders to beat. Including their AFC west rival Chargers.

Easily?? The Saints, the Packers, the Falcons, Detroit, heck even the Redskins are playing well this year. Although more power teams reside in the AFC, the NFC ain't a cakewalk either...

Until they straighten out problems and the good Matt Ryan show up, the Falcons aren't that good. The Redskins need a QB who can limit his mistakes like Smith. The Saints can win against everyone, but they aren't the same as the SB team a couple of years ago. The Lions are good, but the 49ers showed that they can beat them. The Packers are the champs, but so far they have only beaten patsy teams. We don't really know how good they really are until week 9 when they meet the Chargers.

Niners. No Homer. ;-)
Palmer is a big move, but I just don't think the D is there yet. The passing game will improve, but not enough to make up for their D.

Niners have a better defense. The running games are a wash, both are good. Specials teams are also about the same. Coaching is good on both sides also. QB on both are tbd on both sides. I don't know how they have all the pieces and we don't.

Raiders just mortgaged their whole future hoping that Palmer can get them to the playoffs. They aren't gonna be able to fill holes in their roster especially on the defense. They are going to have to over spend to bring in free agents
