Dixon isn't getting PT because Gore > Hunter > Dixon > Toby

haha that was just funny. He's not even fast, dixon is faster he's just 250+ pounds. if he droped some weight it might help. But i'm not trading for gerhart, lol he can't even hold hunters jock strap let alone gores!

Do you even know what you are talking about?
Gerhart's 40 time: 4.5
Dixon's 40 time: 4.6

Who is faster? Who was more beast in College? Who is 2nd string behind A. Petterson and touches the ball in games? Who sits #3 on the depth chart and is strictly a special teamer and doesn't get a whiff on offense?

Let's get rid of Dixon. Bring in Gerhart.

1) Gore- present
2) Hunter- future
3) Gerhart- future

"if anything splitting the carries with hunter will extend his career."

And, how do you know this? I assume you have a crystal ball?
If we were to trade for Gerhart he would fill the exact same role that dixon does now. So we would be trading for the exact same player.

Dixon and Gerhart are pretty much the same player.
Pass on Gerhart. Beast in college but he isn't very good in the NFL even as AP's backup.

Draft a RB, there is always good value in the mid-late rounds.

Because thats all he will be doing if trade for him and still have Gore and Hunter on the roster. LOL @ the Bold. It doesnt get any lower than a 7th round pick

No reason whatsoever to trade for Gerhart, NONE. He is not a special player and a player like him can be had in FA or in the draft. Not worth trading for EVER

That's right 7th round. I was thinking free agency I'm amazed you were able to understand, read, or catch that.

Anyway.

One last time. Gore can be let go after 2012. If the 49ers feel that he is being paid too much or isn't producing enough. Cutting him won't hurt future payroll beyond that. Now, what part of picking up somebody that doesn't play much because he sits behind A. Petterson is it a problem? The guy is a hard nosed runner that has fresh legs. Frank Gore has been a good back for us. But, Frank Gore can be replaced at any time. He is a RB not a QB. There are plenty of RBs that can replace him. And, he will be replaced. He is the present but we need someone for the future. If someone like Gerhart (Who I like) can be brought in for 2012 then they could replace an aging Gore in 2013 at less of a cost. Allowing us to sign either O-line, DBs, or Speed WRs.

Again, one gets limited carries behind Petterson and is actually the 3rd down back.
Gerhart can play in the NFL. The draft is an unproven commodity.
Dixon looks to be in the dog house and will probably be released by Harbaugh.

Hunter is Gores replacement and is already on the roster. No need for Gerhart. If the team isnt happy with Dixon then they could address that need in FA or during the draft. Trading for Gerhart who hasnt shown anything in the NFL is not a good move. If they want to bring him in for a look when he is a FA in 2 more years there is nothing wrong with that.

He is not a clear upgrade over any of our current backs so it would be dumb to trade for him. Id rather bring back Xavier Omon than trade for Gerhart

What can I say. You're being a knucklehead. Anyway, you are entitled to your opinion no matter how unreasonable it is.

Good day.

Good day.

Wow, four pages about trading for Gerhart. There are probably 436,231,884 more attractive options out there if we want to make a changed at RB3.
