I read the first word. Then thought well thank god we fired sing! got someone who work hard to become a head coach, rather then one by default!

Short attention span. If I want to read I'll pick-up a book.
yea the bad side of our 3-1 record is that all the games were pretty close in the 4th quarter even the seahawks game before ginn secured our victory. Im a lil bummed that we havent totally blown anyone out offensively...i hope the buccs are the first blowout game we have for revenge on last years game. GO NINERS!

Bucs will be a good test.

I remember when we came out against the Falcons in 09 and got murdered. I don't see that happening this time. And since I live in Tampa I want this win BAAAAAAAD.
You could probably make the same argument about 20 teams in the league. That's how the NFL is, meng.

Well said.
Just an observation and question: do guys who don't read something and then write "didn't read" or LOL actually get credit for making a post? If so that is a mighty low bar for those that don't read a thread, regardless of what the post says or how long it is. The object here is to share thots with other WZ members, but maybe not. If I posted "didn't read" for every post i read that i didn't care for, that just seems to me to using or gaming the system. Maybe i'm wrong, but it does seem silly to give no creative thot to what one writes after reading a post.

Justin and antix, we are like minded. Yes we won 3 but could have lost. Thing is it never seemed like we were out of it, even after the 1st half of the eagles game, where vic put up 293 passing yds and ran for about 60 more. In Dallas game , sure we lost because our coach made his one time goof of playing not to lose. Again, we were never out of that game. SEA we were never out of it, and then Ginn put them away towards the end. Common thread, W or L, we seem like 30 yrs ago, where the team was always entertaining, and even if we lost we were still in it to the end. That is point i have tried to make, and it was exactly like that with walsh, joe and jerry 4 decades back.
.
If the team is entertaining and you are in every game, then that is a true fan's best hope. Now, if you happen to be winning also, well, that is just icing on the cake.

And for those of you who don't like to read, well...don't.
The coaching loss comment is very much on the mark, though I'm not sure the team had the abiity to turn up the jets at that point. Bringing them along slowly is working so far and I hope it continues. The losses last year were definately all coaching losses and we had no idea of how good or bad the team could be.

The improvement in the passing game last week was wonderful but was it the Eagles DBs not jelling yet or our guys getting better? Has Harbaugh made that much of a difference? This year is very different in that I can't wait for the next game to see what they can come up with!
Actually Dtg, you can go back 10 yrs to er-wreckson (or 9 yrs?), and virtually all the losses since then have been coaching losses, not just last yr...when Lord knows, we had plenty. I have dissed and moaned about every coach we have had here since mooch, and truly they just kept getting worse, with BM being the real capper...the antithesis of what a HC should be . Peter's principle in all 3 of them. Just out of curiousity, did you ever feel like we were in a game last yr, W or L, even after the game was over? Man I never did. Everything that has happened in last 8 yrs plus, has been either total lack of coaching or just plain bad horrid coaching. Harbaugh is so refreshing that it doesn't even seem real.

Re: Eagles not jelling or our guys getting better, it was probably both, but much more 9ers improvement. What blew me away was the fact that vic puts up almost 400 total yds in first half, and at 20-3, I really never felt we were out of it. The complete game strategy change was vintage Walsh, and when the guy we couldn't get to AND tackle in first half, suddenly was nailed repeatedly by rocket fast CBs, DBs, and of course Bowman, the Eagles were beat mentally, and vic was moreso than the rest. When you can dominate someone like that, well, that is a thing of beauty. Consider: in one game JH got the box 8 D off the dam OL , running lanes then opened up and ultimately our 5-7 step drop passes opened up. I had hoped to see that by game 10 or thereabouts. It is incredible JH has gotten to these guys that fast.

Last year, or both under Singletary, I felt the team was a high performance engine being run on low grade fuel. As soon as the coach said he didn't plan on tricking anyone I heard, "We aren't going to play intelligent football, just smashmouth. That may have worked in the old days...get the biggest horses and plow ahead, but not in the NFL.

I like the WCO because it is a very smart system, with everyone accountable. Under Singletary and Nolan I could not tell how good or bad anyone was as no one was accountable...amazing that there was so little finger pointing.

Well, now we know our guys are playing and also how poorly they had played prior to this yr. And as far as no one being accountable, that has now changed, hopefully forever. Jh blew the Dallas game in final few minutes, took responsibility for it, and learned from it. Didn't look to me like once we got up on eagles, and Justin stripped the ball, that we just sat on it. Frank got the ball , with terrific blocking in that last 3 minutes, and we literally ran over Philly. JH wasn't playing to kill time, he was playing to win, and was going for 1st downs. OL blocked, Frank ran and with 32 seconds to go, finally alex took a knee. Harbaugh had the chance to blow it again, but didn't because he learned his lesson, something noln nor BM ever figured out. They were masters of playing not to lose. Our guy, our new guy...made the mistake once and learned from it forever. Eagles game proved it.

Taking the points off the board against Dallas would not have guaranteed a win. Solid pass defense would have. I don't think how we closed out Philly had anything to do with "lessons learned" from the Dallas game. We ran it down Philly's throat because we could.
The difference is we are winning the games we use to self destruct at the end. That is what the better teams in the league do, they find a way to win and so far we have done that.
