To be honest bro, I am not sure if we are running any kind of organized offense. This is about as inept as I have seen the 49ers over the last eight seasons. It's pretty awful.

Lets look at the last WCO from niners coaching root (through holmgren) that was implimented in Philly.

McNabb's & Andy's 1st year: 106/216 for 948 yards
M & A's 2nd year: 330/569 for 3365 yards
3rd year: 3273 yards as a team
4th year: 4208 yards as a team

Seattle when Holmgren got there (Kitna, Dilfer and Hasslebeck were all apart of the rotation)...
1st year team passing stats : 3200 yards
year 2: 3162 yards
year 3: 4257 yards

In Green bay with Farve
1st two years: Farve average 3250 yards a season
Year 3: 3882 yards
Year 4: 4413 yards

No version of the west coast offense is easy, and all lean heavily on the run starting out. It's gonna take another year or two before all you passing officianado's finally have something to cheer about because all the great west coast offenses from before only averaged 200/yards passing per game until the 3rd or 4th year of the system.

Just rewatched the offense in the first half and I am very encouraged. Alex played VERY well. The pass to Ginn while taking a big hit was a thing of beauty. Also, the pass to Gore off of the bad snap that got called for PI was on target.

Play calling was also quite good. There were some screens and a draw play that were real nice to see and kept the pass rush at bay in the first quarter. I think if we can just keep that up for a whole game we will have a very good offense.

Agreed. I just think the aggressiveness we displayed in the 1st half needs to be consistent throughout the game.
So many starters will be out or limited this week at Cincinnati, it will be interesting to see what the coaching staff does.

Davis = best healthy weapon; need to take the chains off this guy so he can finally contribute.
Gore = going to be losing Norris this week; could be a change for the better; needs help from our Jekyl and Hyde o-line.
WR's = Looks like it's only Morgan, Ginn and Williams. Hope they finally give the kid a chance. Crabtree is still a question mark
QB = well, you know.
Gores money belt is to heavy.Hunter!!!! H.C.give him sometime..Better than last year.Right?

I really think Harbaugh had no idea how bad the offense was.

Just stop please. Can you at least offer some suggestions on how to improve right now?

I think its deeper than that. The OL is horrible, also Gore is slowing down and the qb position is unsettled. I never envisioned this kind of WCO. It kind of Jimmy Rayes smash mouth offense, run left, run right and pass on the third down. Its a mess.

Seriously? Most WCO's have looked this inept when they were first installed. McNabb, Hasslebeck, Farve etc all averaged around 200 yards passing for the first 3 years in their new WCO scheme.

I think the issue that is leaving a burning sensation in people's a$$es is Gore not being able to run the ball anymore unless there is a giant hole in front of him. Our passing game, as limited as it is, looks light years better than anything we've seen since Garcia. Put Hunter in for Gore, replace Norris, and things will start opening up all over the place. Gore should be relegated to 3rd down, and short yardage duty. The most explosive guy on our offense doesnt even get the ball simply because hes a rookie and Gores a ball hog.

Agreed, although I think letting Hunter run the ball more will actually help open things up for Gore as well. Two very different types of runners and I think Gore can still be productive.
