That's a big blow IMO. Miller has quietly been doing a fantastic job at pass protection and run blocking. Hopefully Moran can step in and play well. We need that blocker back there, especially against this defense. I also expect to see Peele back there as we did against AZ. Not as good as a blocker, but seems to have more athletic capabilities.

I think the Ravens lost to sub .500 teams like the Jags and Seahawks. This team is inconsistent and I hope we can capitalize on it. I expect to start off with a base 3-4, followed by a lot of 4-man rush with little blitzing as the game wears on. We'll concentrate on stopping the run as we usually do and hope our pass-rush can disrupt the QBs timing on throws. Shouldn't be a high scoring game, something like 23-17 is reasonable. Of course, I'm gonna predict that we win.

Every bit as tenacious as ours
We're # 1 in yards per game (73.9) and 4th in yards per carry (3.6)
Ravens are # 5 in yards per game (93.2) and 1st in yards per carry (3.3)

I still can't believe that at one point Jim Hostler and Mike Nolan were responsible for guiding an NFL offense.
IIRC, Smith was hurt and Dilfer was our QB (Hill didn't start yet for SF), it was a bad situation to be an OC at that time. I wouldn't give him all the blame, but he does deserve some of it just like Nolan and Norv Turner who left.

So this will come down to Smith vs Flacco

This game will test how tough our team really is, with only 3 days to prepare, flying to the East coast, playing probably the toughest defense in the AFC or even the NFL. These are some frickin tough odds to overcome, I will be lost for words if we come out the victor.

So, i'm listening to 107.5 The Fan in Baltimore... and much of the concensus from the hosts is the same 'ol argument... "
Stop Frank Gore and force Alex to throw 30 to 45 times to beat you..."
Also, a lot of "
records can be misleading and our receivers can't get separation and stuff..." They know it won't be easy, but it just seems like they come up with a simple formula that we've already proven in Phil, Detroit and New York... we shall see...

I'll be surprised if we win. Not Shocked but surprised. I expect us to win but this is a very tough game. No preparation time, traveling across country, on the road obviously, missing Miller possibly. But if any team can do this it's the 49ers

A
Also, keep in mind, according to MM, JH has been gameplanning for the Ravens since the offseason and also during the bye week some... I can say with complete confidence that, IF the Niners were to lose, it would not be for lack of preparation... how far we've come from the Dingleberry/Nowin eras! GO NINERS!

The way i see it... they have the same amount of preparation time; if anything i'm more concerned about the travel time and recovery time and of course the home crowd noise. But since we will most likely be on defense first, hopefully we can take the crowd noise out, with a big time hit or turnover-- best case!

I believe The Ravens will win the toss, and John Harbaugh uses his smarts and decides to kickoff.
Putting our offense on the field first, unlike its been all season.
This can rattle things up possibly.
It would definitely be a smart move by John.
