Linkage.

Hopefully he will be slow to plant and cut because of the ankle and the Smith's can blow by him! Aldon and Justin each get at least 1 sack because of the ankle!!
One of the options could be rookie first-round pick James Carpenter, who has struggled at right tackle during the preseason. Seattle got to the point in its final two exhibition games of working in veteran Breno Giacomini along with Carpenter at tackle as the rookie had problems with outside speed rushers.
Carpenter did play a little bit at guard on Monday, Carroll said. It's not a completely awkward place for Carpenter, who was a left tackle in college at Alabama. He shifted inside and played guard at the Senior Bowl to show NFL scouts he could play the position.
"It's not foreign to me because I've been playing on the left side for five years before I got over here. That's not the problem," Carpenter said. "I'm more comfortable on the left, but I'm going to do my job to help my team win." http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/6934194/seattle-seahawks-additions-robert-gallery-sidney-rice-nursing-injuries

Oh please oh please oh please, let Carpenter start at RT. Haralson/Aldon will get him acclimated to the NFL. Or better yet, guard where he can deal either Smith or McD even Ice. Seriously though, these OL problems so close to the start of the season will only benefit our defensive game plan. We already have a stout 3-man DL and it seems the OLBs are holding the edge better except for that Matthews run. If Seattle starts moving their OL around, look for us to blitz the middle and edges to keep that OL off balance. I can see Justin and McD having good games against the interior while Ice holds containment in the middle leaving the LBs to attack and mangle. With Whitner, we have that Safety who can roam the LOS. Jackson is going to have to get that ball out fast. I see a lot of three and outs.

On our offensive line, we have to slow down their really beefy 4-man front. Those guys could disrupt our interior game so look for Roman/Harbaugh to attack the edges as those fatties can't run forever, lots of sweeps and screens. I expect us to attack the middle against Bigby and especially Earl Thomas. Look for slants to V. Davis often to attack the mismatch. Once Davis has the ball in the open field, he will bulldoze Thomas easily and has done it last year. In addition, look how our OL performed in the first series against SDs DL with that first down run by Hunter on a sweep led by Staley and Iupati.. I expect to see lots of that as it will spread the 4 man DL out allowing more run in the middle. Get 'em tired and often, attack and keep the gas down with NOS button handy.

ST will play a major role, too. However, this game will be won in the trenches. We have the advantage.

We will win!!

PS T. Jackson is NOOOOOOOO Matt Hasselbeck. I just don't see Jackson having the poise to deal with the situation. We shall see....

Oh, and Seattle will have to deal with this! Love this vid!!!!

I would be cautiously optomistic about their OL problem. Its no where near as bad as it looked last season going into the first game yet Manusky couldnt capitalize on that either. With a more attacking defense, there should be some breakdowns in protection Fangio can capitalize on.

For our O-line, 4-3 teams not named the giants havent been a problem. But expect Carroll to blitz early to see if our line woes are really fixed and to try and take the crowd out of the game and chanting Tolzien. The NFL really needs to give an answer to Edwards so we can gameplan for blitzes, horsecrap!

I would normally agree if we were dealing with the ineptitude of Singletary and Raye, but this is Harbaugh and Roman, now. Those two know how to game plan. They know Carroll's tendencies. They know how to attack the weakness of a D. I expect Fangio to bring the heat fast and often. I expect Whitner to be totally on Miller which will allow matchup problems for their OL.. The key to that is the QB and Jackson has had difficulty this preseason with pressure and accuracy.

If we can get into the Seattle OLs' heads, by beating them and hit the QBs, we can make them keep punting to us.

His confidence must be up after covering Vernon Davis in practice.
Wow the season is upon us, I think this is finally the year where all of our misery here in NT ends.
