True, but remember, this thread (and board in general) is about people's
feelings, reality isn't supposed to have anything to do with it.

Who cares about Eric Allen.
Whoever he is, his analogy doesn't even work, who says they're goofing off or not paying attention? Patience, or not grossly overpaying people, does not mean they're not even trying.
I give that writer an F. I give baalke an incomplete, he gets graded at the END of the season.

Well don't leave out all the intellectuals that defend this FO year after year, only to watch them fail to put together a winning record. Yet, still they feel compelled to appeal to the fact that the FO are "professionals" as the trumph card in the competancy debate...

This and the Yorks said no. They blew their cash on Harbaugh. So no more spending.

(funny, seriously).
Even more seriously though, isn't it possible for
both the FO to be incompetent and for some of the fans to be unstable emotive messes who would be better off building bunkers given that they think the sky has fallen another inch with each unproductive 7th round draft pick, practice squad player who doesn't make the pro-bowl, and free agent who somehow someway actually signed with another team?

Very possible as I am living proof of your theory...

Goldson wasn't good, neither was Franklin, Clements, or Lawson. I dont see what the big deal is. Right now the defense may be better than last year.

Purely because I find the lack of news to be less obnoxious than 49ers fans who throw tantrums when we don't outbid every other team every single time for every single free agent.

This team has only a few truly good players. The rest are either below average, or about average. But they are letting half of our average players walk without any back up plan.
We just took a step back from the relatively little we had last year. Talent that only won us 6 games. How many are we going to win with even less talent?
Even if you're not a fan of some of the guys we let walk, or some of the guys we're not signing this offseason, there's still no way to condone not having a back up plan at CB, C, S, NT or WR.

Lets see, we are going to be this, that, Not big players in Free agency but we wanted the best Corner in the league, oh and we wanted Burress and so forth. Lets see, maybe they are saying what they are saying because they know nobody wants to come be part of the Yorks Disfunctional Team! This Sucks and after 8 Loosing Seasons it is beyond Getting Old!
How could we not have done a contract a year ago to keep Baas and I understand we have other needs but wouldn't Center be one of them?
The big names get attached to us by the press. The team has said all along that they are not going to be big players in free agency. The Redskins have shown how running after every big name FA works out.
Harbaugh was brought in to do a job. Let's see what he makes of it.
Are u saying Redskins know how to spend and sign right FAs?
Stadium makes a difference. Not the only thing but a factor.

He's trying to sign guys, but we're just not a legit consideration for most players. Baalke's hands are kind of tied.
Unless you know what restrictions are put on him he cannot be graded. Of course since he was promoted from within, and no one but the cheap Yorks would hire him as GM it is not like he going to man up and talk back to the boss. If all he is allowed to do is offer players 80% of what another team is willing to pay he won't be scoring anything other than undrafted free agent scrubs.

Being that I am happy just be being talking real football again.. my bitterness factor is way down. Baalke as a GM is very much a wait and see proposition. That is just the way it is. But like many of you I was concerned that he was promoted without any real search. I am concerned that two of the teams biggest FA concerns have the team behind the 8 ball. Baas (center) and Cornerback (No Clemons) and at this point it does not look like there are any better replacements on the horizon. These two factors very concerning at this point. Not a great start. In FA. As for Spikes and LaBoy I saw the replacements names and unless he (Baakle) knows something that we... (which he may) do not the two signings do not look like upgrades.
If one follows the old homeland security threat level for impending disaster I would say it is level yellow (elevated level of attack). Blue is Guarded. I am at elevated Yellow.
What are you at?
