The Niners hit a once in a lifetime combination of Walsh and Montana and a perfect front office. Unless the Niners tank and get Luck next season, and overhaul their front office with people who know what they are doing, we are not going to see a repeat of the dynasty.

Jed is no Eddie and Trent is no Carmen.

History never repeats itself exactly. But the tide has turned and the team is on the way back.
Is it just me or does it seem like coach is mimicking bill walshs steps
As a head coach ?

I have a feeling that coach will draft a whole new secondary next year like the year bill walsh drafted ronnie lott and that whole secondary. As of now we have nobody that is worth starting in the secondary.

Coach harbaugh will bring back the 40 niners to their glory and their roots

He definitely has a lot of influence from bill walsh there is no doubt about that is my mind
I don't know much about 1979, as I was born in 1980......

Something doesn't feel right though......I'm thinking that Harbaugh is gunning for Luck next season.

We have a good, promising college coach with no NFL experience. And, a roster that is slowly losing much of its talent base. I don't see how this is turning the corner. Sorry, I am just not as optimistic as you.
i guess people like living in the past this is the present theres no bill walsh rip all we can hope is harbaugh can be like bill walsh but thats what we all said about no win and dingleberry
News flash...free agency isnt over...

Also you dont know what our plan is, neither do I.
Nolan and dingleberry were not offensive minds.. harbaugh is... also harbaugh is bringing back the west coast offense.. coach also brought great assistant coaches to help him out unlike dingleberry

well obviously. Trent is a personnel/GM guy and Carmen was an attorney who played president/ executive. Apples and oranges.
For me it's starting to feel like 2003. That's the last time I can remember losing as many starters in one off season.

Didn't work out too well back then....

Apparently not, which is sad. I don't see that we are losing "much" of the talent base. Just some replaceable players.

Some fans want us to be paper champions already. I can sympathize with that. We've been bad for a long time an it looks like we're getting worse on paper.

Just remember that we were paper champions last offseason.

It's hard to argue that we're going to have a good season. It would be hard to argue that we'll have a better record than last season.

However, that doesn't mean we aren't going to get better.

IMO, our biggest flaw last season was coaching. Well, we got the paper champion coach. Let's give him a chance before we burn him.
Does this mean Alex Smith is our Deberg?

Just read a quick note on the Jonathan Jospeh deal w/ Houston. He mentioned that the Bengals made a "competitive" offer but going to Houston was a no brainer . Namdi's contract turns out to be a MAX deal of $12 million a year ...Max . Why is this important , well these players choose these teams because they feel like they can WIN with the new organization after coming from Org.s that just haven't won period. As much as I hate to say this the Niners , My 5 time super bowl Niners have lost their shine we are considered a losing franchise and after 10yrs without a playoff apperance it is well deserved , like it or not. However there is hope, once again the Walsh/Harbaugh similarities strike again. Whe Bill arrived in 1979 the Niners were the dog of the league , of course their was no free agency so Bill , Eddie D and John McVay and Carmen Policy built the organization with young talent that they could mold into winners . Listen to any of the players from that era and they will tell you Walsh would say this is going to happen in a game and it would and slowly they began to believe. Harbaugh has way more talent on this roster than Bill did when he got started but he needs to restore confidence. I believe he can!!!! I love my niners and as you can see by my user name I go WAY back with this team, get on board now boys so you can say I was a believer when this thing got turned around , trust me it feels my sweeter than saying I been on board w/ the Jets since 2010 ! Ha ha. I am a realist , and this franchise has alot to fix but I do believe a Coach with the right players can change a teams Destiny !!! Enjoy boys there are brighter days ahead I Guarantee it !

More blind optimism. Yaaahoooo, the team is as bad as 30 years ago. This must mean we're on the road to a championship.
