Okay, so the way I understood the new CBA there is a minimum salary cap spending floor, am I correct?

With that said we will need to spend a lot of $ if Clements restructures, right?

Sounds like we are going throw $ at Goldson, I hope we can put together a team that competes!

yes we do have money

we just arent spending it yet

That money needs to be spent before the end of the league year, it doesn't mean teams have to spend it FA.

oh okay, I see now. So we don't have to go spend it now, we can overpay an undrafted free agent at the end of the season a boat load of dough to come in compliance if need be, right?

Exactly. Can't teams now restructure contracts mid-year to reward good play? Given how the new CBA works, this might make sense since incentive-laden contracts have definitely been marginalized. Now 90% of players' salaries have to be in cold hard cash.

If this is the case, I wouldn't be surprised to see Harbaugh incentivize his players by promising to enhance their salaries as they deserve it, and in effect tell underachievers and malcontents to get the hell out. From what he's shown so far in his young coaching career, he may be channeling Vince Lombardi in that regard.
