I think Edwards has better RAC ability. I think Floyd is better as a down field jump ball target.

If we're basing the next WR based on the scheme, seems like Edwards is better suited for it (if what you say is right).

This is a tough call for me. Truth be told, I haven't really watched either of them. I'm not really into divas so I'm somewhat against the Edwards signing. I would want more than a one year contract though in either case.

Hard to say. I don't think either receiver stands out in WCO terms - both have made their success off of the deep route. Both are big receivers, with Floyd being the bigger one. Braylon Edwards is the much better deep route runner. That's the bad thing about big receivers - they're not always the most polished route runners and don't have that sort of sudden quickness that you'll see in a lot of ideal WCO receivers.

I would rather take Braylon just because he's younger. Floyd is a big target but he was in an offense that made him look good. Plus, Braylon had an insane pro bowl year - his ceiling is much higher than Floyd's.

However, I think a trade for Asante Samuel would make this a very good free agency period by any team's standards. I know people don't want to give up the draft pick, but Asante and Rogers would make a very good CB combo and give us the opportunity to be more aggressive, thus helping Aldon Smith and the other OLBs THIS YEAR as opposed to a hit-or-miss draft pick that won't help us for another 2-3 years, if ever.

Philly supposedly wants a 2nd, but since nobody's taken the bait yet, maybe the offer will be lowered to a 3rd.

Ayup.

People will probably kill me for this, but Edwards could be a John Taylor type, IMO. Meaning, actually good for both.

thats completely backwards....

edwards avg per catch last year was 17.1 and his career avg is 15.8.

floyd avg last yera was 19.4 per catch and his career avg is 17.3.

to me that says floyd is the bigger play guy.

floyds career recp total is 134 rec and 15 tds since 2005.

edwards career recp total is 326 rec and 39 tds since 2005.

edwards is more dependable by far.

Can you throw in the "drops" stat?

Ill take either, but Braylon is known for his drops. He's one of those take the good with the bad type players.

Dont know too much about Floyd, but being 6'5 is pretty nice to have in a WR, especially in the redzone. Does he have the speed to take the top off the defense like Braylon?

It seems to me Edwards could possibly be a solid #1 reciever. Floyd is a just a solid #2. Edwards is just a little more electric in his play.

Crabtree and Edwards? Just think of that tandem...

That's a great point. I forgot the Rivers factor. Not sure Floyd is Floyd with Sanchez in the AFC East.
