Read a few reports on todays practice. One thing that popped out a few times is Davis getting beat for a QB pressure or sack. Hoping this guy can turn into the tackle we all hoped when he was drafted. Any consideration moving this guy to his natural LT and moving Staley to RT?

Alex just died!
I'm starting to get excited for this year again. I'll be honest...I was down in the dumps for a while about this year. I really didn't think these new coaches could fix the players (esp..well lets be honest...Alex). Obviously it still remains to be seen but what I have noticed over and over this "off season" is the attention to detail (as Snake and others have pointed out). From the knee brace to Harbaugh getting super involved, the wristbands for the QB AND OL, etc...it's just a culmination of it all.

It's all pretty encouraging stuff. Obviously it doesn't mean s**t until we get some Ws...but this is the first time where it's not the "hype.." it's the little things that are getting us excited. Things we've never seen before (well in the last 9 years at least).

I really hope we can turn it around man...these guys deserve it. Esp guys like Gore, Willis, Spencer, J.Smith and the fans.

I read those reports and was thinking the same thing. I was hoping that the only person we really had to worry about was chilo, not the same old song and dance from Anthony Davis.

I guess it's still early, lets see how many false starts he gets in the preseason.

I am liking this, Sando says:

SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- A few thoughts after watching the San Francisco 49ers practice in pads for most of their three-hour afternoon session Monday:

* This was the crispest, most efficient practice I've seen while visiting NFC West camps over the past week. Coach Jim Harbaugh was everywhere, including deep inside the offensive huddle. The 49ers practiced with purpose. Harbaugh called this the best 49ers practice since camp opened. There was frequent give-and-take between offense and defense. Newly signed receiver Braylon Edwards dominated at times in the red zone. Fans in attendance cheered his every move, no matter how ordinary. Edwards' overhead touchdown grab against cornerback Tramaine Brock was a highlight.

That gives be a Harb-on

Haha, this NEEDS to be the newest catch phrase.

You think he's getting used now, see what happens if we put him at LT. Yeah, in that position he'll face the league's best pass rushers every week. No, Staley has the quicker feet and better technique, he belongs where he's at.

RT -- Anthony Davis, Mike Person, Kenny Wiggins.
Obviously, the 49ers did not award Goodwin a contract with $4 million guaranteed to be a backup. He'll eventually -- probably sooner than later -- take over as the starter at center. The only position at which there is a little doubt is right guard. When Rachal missed a few plays at practice Monday to get his left wrist taped, Wragge took over. Once Goodwin takes over as the first-team center, that would free Snyder to slide over to right guard to compete with Rachal. Boone has gotten off to a good start, as he is slated to replace veteran Barry Sims as the backup tackle on both sides. The line, as a whole, looks a lot better than it did a year ago at this time. Davis looks considerably better in pass protection. But we'll see if that carries over against the New Orleans Saints on Friday
