Justin Smith Snub from TOP 100 | Page 4

I thought Justin Smith was a lock for top 100, but looking at his numbers I see why he didn't make it. Justin Smith ranked: #127 in tackles with 70, #24 in sacks with 8.5, #164 in forced fumbles with 1. 49ers ranked last in tackles in NFL with 927 that might be why he is not feared like he should be. 49ers ranked 6th in sacks tho with 44.

I'm on your side in this overall argument, but JSmith went to the Pro Bowl as a DT, also. It's a matter of semantics differentiating between 3-4 DEs and 4-3 DEs, depending on the techniques employed within each scheme. Ngata is a monster, but I'd keep Smith over Dockett for sure.

There's no question Justin should be on that list...he never takes a play off. All his success with the Niners has been without any steller DL playing alongside him. I'd take him on my team any day.

Id take Freeman over Smith in a hearbeat. Smith is good dont get me wrong but a 3-4 DE isnt that important.

He's saying QB >>> DE. But since you want to use New England as an example: Tom Brady >>> Richard Seymour.

I get the point, I just don't see how a middle of the road QB is better than a top 1 or 2 3-4 DE. He harasses the QB, stuffs the run, and keeps the LBs on his side clean. Pretty important stuff for a defense.

I dont know, man. Wasn't Dockett in the top 20 in the list? Smith didn't even make the list. That's got to mean something.

When you are talking about the lower part of the 100 list, I'm sure there are a lot of guys that can arguably be on it. I probably would have put Smith on the list, but then again, I"m a Niner fan. Other fans probably have best kept secrets on their team as well. What about that Peko kid in Cinn?
