Smith will be the starter. You guys are expecting too much from Colin, he is a project QB with a high level of athletic ability, by no means a sure thing, the longer he sits and watches, the better off he will be. You guys wanting to throw him right in are insane, he is nowhere near ready, hell he has never taken a snap from under center. The best thing for him and the team is to sit and watch and soak up everything he can from those with more experience than he has.

I agree, i believe he has promise, I also believe in Alex. I truly hope Alex improves Dramatically, and we end up with a situation like the Eagles, where we have the chance to trade one of these guys for something huge.

I agree that he needs to sit and learn, but he should be put in the game in spot situations. Like say 4th quarter and niners trailing 35-14 two minutes left in the game or vice versa. Or if 2nd and 1 etc.

I want him to sit and learn and not get his confidence rattled, but the reason he should get in there in spot situations goes to the saying that there is no substitution for experience at times. There is also the saying blind leading the blind. Alex hasn't been consistent and would n't want Kaep picking up any of his bad traights.
