Alex will start because he is more familiar with Vernon and the othe players. CK will play in spots. This is all predicated on Alex signing a 1-2 year contract. As the season progresses, especially if the niners are out of the running, CK will get more playing time in spots, like if the niners are beyond the 35 or in the red zone. This is what Walsh did with Montana.

Are you assuming that we are going to have football in 2011?

I always wondered if when an athletic QB comes out just for spot duty, to do a run pass read option.... Doesn't that partially stop them from attempting to learn to be a pass first, pocket QB?

Yes, they (owners) have too much money to lose, and you know the NFL is all about the money.

We will bring in a veteran as an "official backup" and all hell will break loose once he throws in TC next to Alex.
JH will keep 4 QB's.
JH will keep 4 QB's.

That means we will probably end up cutting a fan fav, to make room for four QB's.. possibly Ziegler...?

f**k the fan favorites. Either way, the new backup will be the new fan favorite...unless...Alex is the backup.

It is about getting the player on the field, getting him comfortable with the team, the speed of the game, the crowd, and of course confidence. Not to mention to see if he got what it takes. Some people when squeezed fall apart, others focus, so what is Kaep at the next level, can he call his talent at the next level while also being sharpened into a pro level QB by JH, or will he Wilt. One thing guys like Brady and Joe, Unitas, Starr, and Rodgers have is attitude-a cockiness to them.

It's obviously Alex... he is putting in wayy too much work to not resign with the Niners. I don't see Carr or the rookie beating him out in a competition at this point in time.
