The Bee's Matt Barrows suggests Asomugha would only be a 49er if he's willing to give them a "hometown discount." Asomugha played college football at Cal and has stayed in the Bay Area ever since. Writes Barrows, "Asomugha is likely to land elsewhere." The smart money is on some team in the NFC East. May. 9 - 1:14 pm et

I would not be surprised if we are aggressive with Nnamdi or another top CB.

We will have freed up money by cutting Nate and not resigning Manny.

he is a mauler in the run game he just sucks at pass blocking and misses blocks and assignments sometimes

he does need to be releaved as starter but he is a mauler in the run game

If Nate isn't intrigued with the option to take a paycut in order to bring Nnamdi onto the team then his lack of desire to have a chance to win the big one will be obvious and he can just get the f**k out.
Nnamdi would make this team a top 10 defense.

If we offer him top or near top money, then I'm sure he will stay in the Bay and if we are a million less than DAL or WAS.

we wont bee a million left we will be much more haynesworth not too long ago was one of the most high profile FA like namdi look at the contract he got dallas raiders and the redskins are the 3 teams who will pay anything and everything for one guy of they have to (although dallas does have a little more sense)

im not saying we dont have a chance we should just prepare and not put our eggs in 1 basket they are many good and even great CBs in FA this year

But Haynesworth and Nnamdi are not from the same mental mold.
With Nate getting the contract he did I feel its unlikely that we spend that much money on a CB again. It would be nice to get N. Asohoweverthefukyouspellhisname.
The problem with Nnamdi is that he turns 30 this year. So do you really want to give him a huge deal for 5 years at huge money? You have seen what happened to Nate when he got older. CB's hit a wall somewhere and they slow down. It will happen to him too. I'm not sure about him although he is the popular Bay Area pick. He's not as young as you guys think.
