Lynch on Harbaugh

I like that Harbaugh has opened this up to the media. I didnt know the 9ers had closed off the media recently to local pro days.

Interesting also that it seems every report points to the fact that Harbaugh wants Smith under center. Ive read news that Harbaugh has watched every snap, I say again every snap Smith has made in the pros. Harbaugh been studying Smith since he got drafted!

I dont know about the team and staff being so open to the media like the Walsh period though, we are living in a different era.

Great article/analysis (which is rare, coming from a guy like Lynch).

ALTHOUGH, I do not agree with Lynch's statement (combined through observation/hear-say) that, "Harbaugh is not a great X's and O's man" (compared to his cerebral/effective coaching abilities). This is a very, very false statement.

-In fact, Mike Sando wrote up a huge article the day Harbaugh was hired by the 49ers, including bits and pieces (quotes in fact) from coaches/players around both the NCAA/NFL of how creatively skilled/effective Harbaugh is at drawing up game-plans/matchups.
What I took from the article is that Roman (OC) is Harbaugh's "genius X and O guy."

I love this quote...

Harbaugh believes he could coach an Oompa Loompa into spinning NFL-quality spirals

He's not x's and o's lets face that knows nothing about defense! Thank god, i thought the oc was the x's and o's guy, he's the one who helped stanford open up a great running game i hope to see that with gore, dixon, rookie! Alex was mismanaged from day one, even the great rodgers would have looked like steve young playing for the bucs!

He was a player in college and the NFL. He has been a tremendous HC at several levels of college coaching. It's not too early IMO. From brain dead idiots like NoWin and Dingleberry to a great offensive mind like Harbaugh is night and day.

I definitely hear that point of view, we've had so many coaches the last decade, and we've been so underperforming with what I see now as an extremely talented team (it wasn't like that 7-8 years ago as we had to collect the pieces in that time span) that only performing will be the icing on the cake for all us 9er fans. I think the 49ers front office is trying to build a championship team as they are trying to bring in a coaching staff that has a history of success in a competative college football division and trying to bring in the best people, but with all of that, only the performance on the field can satisfy our cravings as we are so desperate to see our team back on the top of the football world.
