Oakland, part of Alex's problems are caused by of your boy, Rachel.

Lol the other part was AD wiffing on that block in carolina and alex getting planted... racheal just got owned against the chargers!

We draft mike L right before pouncy. Personally i think mikes better so that pick was right on. the only tackle who had a good season was the kid the seahawks picked up okumg and he was injured most of the season and they wouldn't trade with us to take the player they wanted. I think the guy from the packers might be more polished, but they were right he's got little arms and people get into his chest to easy. I shall a picture of a play with a guy laying down on the ground between davis and a defender, his arms are long i think he's a vd player, needs to grow up but he's got the talent. hopefully he won't take 4 years!

If we spend another 1st or even 2nd rounder on another OL man i'm going to be pissed

Rachel seems to be a waste of a pick, and I'm not sold at all on Anthony Davis. Dude seemed to have some kind of penalty every game. Drafted him high too.

Look how the steeler's picked up M Pouncey with a late first round pick. We should have one of the best o-lines in the league with the number of draft picks we spent on offensive linemen.

In Jim Harbaugh I trust

Wasn't Baas supposed to be the long-term guy at Center, but Heitmann was playing so well that we just stuck Baas at guard?

Are you saying the play of the offensive line can effect the QB? I never thought of that. I'm going to email your post to Harbaugh right now to make sure he is fully informed.

WIth that said, when you look at the best Olines and QBs in the league I think it's hard to tell how good the Oline really is. Franchise QBs win even when their Oline makes mistakes. I'm sure you watched the Superbowl. How many times did Big Ben make a play with defenders in the backfield? This is not unusual for Franchise QB. And before you come back to me with an extreme example argument, keep in mind I'm talking about average olines, not horrible ones. I'm pretty sure it's a fact our Oline was at least average.
The whole unit should Gel better this year.Hopefully that is.
I'd like to hope jim works some magic with this unit. I really think we have the talent at every spot, coaching will be what this unit needs!

f**k that! If Alex Smith gets another shot, so should my boy Rachal.

This
Oakland, with all due respect, I've also watched games where P. Manning and Brady played poorly because they weren't getting their normally good protection from their OLs. So I reject your premise that great QBs make plays even when they do not have good protection. Sometimes they do, and sometimes they don't.

Aaron Rodgers obviously does, and so does Big Ben.

this
peyton manning had so many multiple int games because his o line (i think 2 starters were injured for 2nd half of season this year)
I started an o line thread a week or two ago and i feel that we are 2 o lineman away from being good. Davis and rachal got beat so many times. Davis gets a pass even though its possible for a rt to do well As a rookie. See baltimores oher and a few others.
Staley above avg
iupati good
baas above avg
rachal bad...snyder below avg
davis below avg probably the worst rt PERFORMANCE WISE LAST YEAR.
overall an avg at best line however we all expect them to improve with better coaching and gelling. However people have to admit that the only good to great player we have is iupati. Davis MAY improve but he may not be that good.

And before the excuses fly like hes a rookie no time to gel and so on realize that plenty of oher offensive lineman were rookies and performed better than our rookies and plenty of experienced players just come to a new team and perform well.

We are more than one player away from a good ol. Probably if davis becomes good we will need a rg for sure and maybe an upgrade at center or lt

No offense, but it's hard for me to comment off such a general statement. I will say however, that you cannot convince me the only reason Manning and Brady are succsceful is because they have time and Alex doesn't. Manning and Brady "create time" because they make hot reads, redirct protection and make defensex pay for blitzing. Rogers and Big Ben do the same thing. Do they occassionally have an off day against great defenses? Yes? Does this happen more often than not? No. That is why they are in the playoffs year after year and even when the guys around them are destroyed by injuries, they find a way to make the 2nd and 3rd stringers around them succesful. However, even being in the NFC Worst for 6 years (4 played) Alex wasn't even able to get the team to .500. The one year that he did, he was only responsible for 5 games. Personally, I think Alex has solid starter potential, and that's how he has played given his circumstances. But, I don't think he is a true franchise QB and obviously I dont think he'll ever be elite.

No need to draft OL or get any in FA this year.

Anthony Davis can't even handle RT. How is going to handle LT?...

Anthony Davis is gonna be a beast this year. Just watch. I'm sure you will still have something to complain about, though.
