So as everyone is thinking about our QB options, here's some trivia/food for thought. What did Walsh say is the most important thing in a quarterback?

Amazing read. Thank you. But still, what is the #1 thing he used to talk about?

Intuition and the ability to improvise. Things that you can't quantify.
What everyone is talking about when they say a guy has "it."

Walsh was a big believer in footwork....the ability to move the body in a fluid motion as to not take your eyes away from downfield....dropping back or receiving the ball from shotgun snap and having your feet ready to deliver the ball.....a QB, for the most part, cannot deliver the pass accurately if he is throwing from, or off the wrong foot or they aren't set properly.....
Seeing the field, quick release, accurate passing, avoiding the pass rush.....all starts with good footwork.

far as I know Walsh never drafted a QB in the first round.
Harbaugh said athletic instincts are what Walsh told him is most important in a QB.
footwork, accuracy, drive, competitive nature, how they deal with pressure--lots of stuff---I trust harbaugh!
