If the Niners would have made the playoffs this year do you think they would have signed Harbaugh? Singletary would have still got fired but maybe some other team would have picked him up like Miami or the Broncos

at this point everything is going to be speculation.
that being said, I think sing was gone no matter what at the end of the season.

the reason Sing wasnt fired earlier was because the playoffs were still possible. As dysfunctional as the team was under Singletary you dont just blow it all up and change when there was still that sliver of hope. Its also the reason i think Sing was hired in the first place; Jed wanted to go with the momentum. As the season went on it was pretty obvious Sing was in over his head tho, and i think short of the SB, Sing would have still been fired.

We would have pulled the biggest upset two hours ago if the Seacocks could do it so we'd be stuck with Sing. Now that being said, if we got the right match-ups, who knows, we could be in the Super Bowl

I wanted us to make the playoffs at the time, but in retrospect I'm glad we didn't, because we would have beat NO and then kept Singletary. Although a SB appearance would've been somewhat possible. There is no great team in the NFC this year, imo.

i honestly doubt it. another team or stanford would have jumped on harbaugh after that sugarbowl game. not saying we would have kept singletary (even if we beat new orleans), but harbaugh would've been long gone

Of course they would have. Sing was getting fired no matter what. If we beat the Rams and made the playoffs at 7-9 it would not have made a difference.

I AGREE, I think it would have been an easier choice for jim. i really dont think sing would have allowed us to score more than 20 points.
