Jerry Rice was selfish. Michael Jordan was selfish...

They won MULTIPLE titles... Gore has won... hmmmm... NOTHING

If that is all you are looking at, then you are not paying attention to the big picture. Heck, even with this not so insightful observation, you must have noticed that there were a lot of other good players on those teams that won titles.

ok then, what are you trying to say? I don't see the relevence of championships to a discussion on a common personality trait amongst top competitors in a team sport that is dependent on so much more than what that one player does on the field.

Well that person brought up Jordan (Greatest player of all time) and Rice (Greatest WR of all time), so if you want to say they are selfish players, they earned that right by winning... Gore has won nothing, so he doesn't have that right.

It is not about "earned rights" when you are talking about people's personalities or what motivates them. People are what they are. You either accept them for it, and learn how to work with them, or you decide that you can't, and you don't get along at work. If you want the best organization, you take the best talent, and get strong leadership to manage all those different personalities that may sometimes clash in your organization.

Well respected by his teammates and the most effective player on the team. That does not sound like selfish to me, but if it is the 9ers could use others like him. Championships aside, Gore is a player who needs the team to step up. Jordan did not become a champion until he was surrounded by talent. That's when his "selfishness" became "greatness."

Edit--people called MJ selfish during his early career but stopped when he started piling up championships. His coach made a huge difference.
