carter said the niners DONT spend money to get players. he didn't say they don't have money.
the f**k cris carter know about the 9ers??? all he knows about us that he fell WAY short of catching the wr thats played here in #'s
Chris Carter doesn't have brains to speak.
we have the money, rest asured we will be able to get players to sign, especially with a new compitent HC and GM in place.

Once that falls in place, we will see some guys, key guys re-sign.

The ones im unsure of are Aubrayo and Manny, depends on the scheme the new HC wants to use.

Well that's BS too. The 9ers just choose to splash in free agency when they feel its appropriate. The 9ers aren't the Washington Redskins.
Chris Carter's the dumbest f**kin guy on ESPN after Matt Millen. At least Millen's good natured despite playing for the Raiders all those years. CC's analysis is about as valued as a loud mouth drunk in a bar. Stick to what you know Chris: lecturing rookies about pissing their money and talent away on liquor and coke...that and catching TD's

I would think our former prestige would put us right up on top. Not to mention we do have some young talent.

-Iupati and Davis
-Vernon Davis
-Crabtree
-Gore
-Willis
-Mays

That right there is a good reason to come to SF. Not many other teams have a starting young foundation as we have.

right on, and if money is "no object" we will be in the top 8th of places coaches want to come to. Hopefully Jed is learning from his uncle, that you get what you pay for.

People keep talking about dysfunction. This team has made some horrible decisions, but the truth of the matter is that JY is trying to make the moves to right all the wrongs. Now everyone complains and all talking about how he will screw up.

Cris Carter is missing a huge point there are only 32 HC jobs and not all are or will become available.
carter is an idiot

We have about $25M in expiring contracts this season including:

Alex Smith (7M)
Aubrayo Franklin (7M)
Brian Westbrook (2.5M)
Barry Sims (3M)
Takeo Spikes (3M)

In addition, if we release the following players, we'll save about $11M:

Nate Clements (7M)
David Carr (2.5M)
Moran Norris (1.5M)

And before all of that, we would have plenty of room to make a few transactions. At the very least, we'd have about 36M in room for free agency - 2-3 high priced FAs, 2-3 mid, 4-5 low.
