Just for the sake of something different than all the negative talk going on this entire season i'd like the Niner faithful to talk about the players currently on this roster with say.. 3 years exp. or less that they think may grow into big contributers to this organization. (includes practice roster)

Who is our head coach, coordinators and position coaches and what is our scheme/philosophy on offense and defense?
Only then can I answer this question - but it is a good one!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think Brian Billick is that aggressive of an offensive guy. I know he is a good offensive mind but I would only take him as a head coach with an aggressive coordinator underneath him. I don't want anything CLOSE to the mindset we have on offense right now

You might be right. Honeslty i'd rather him only be the QB's coach because, if i recall correctly, he is fairly good at bringing the best out of them. but due to his previous status as a HC i doubt very much that he'd accept a position coach job and would be more likely to go for the OC title..

his baltimore offenses deserve they're poor reputation, but he did also call the plays for the second highest scoring team of all time the 98 vikings

I hate the fact that people can't "make" our team, but go play for teams that are contenders. Bear P, Sperlock, Grant there is more.

All three by the way leading their positions in the Pro Bowl voting.

That is true but he also did have a rare combination of a Mobile, Rocket Arm QB in Cunningham and a Tall, Fast, Athletic, Never drop a pass WR in Randy Moss and a HOF possession WR in Chris Carter. That combo was practically unguardable all season long

whos to say that if he were to come here he wouldnt be able to find players with potential (i hate that i still have to use that word for this team) in comparison to what he had there. all hypothetical, yes, but picture cam newton throwing to Crabs, Morgan, Zeigler who i believe s underrated, VD and Walker. with Gore Dixon and i pray Westbrook. Sounds Explosive with good coaches yes?

Lets add Harvey Dahl, who went from our practice squad to OL starter for the Falcons.

hmmm... that actually doesn't sound too shabby. I don't see any of those WR's as the consistent deep threat like Moss was but if we bring in someone or even draft someone in the later rounds since we will have to address the secondary early in the draft, maybe Billick could put together a pretty explosive offense. Not sure if he would be willing to settle for OC though. I think if he was HC and brought in an understudy at OC, I think that would be a more realistic scenerio

i'm sure every scout in the NFL would be hardpressed to say they have their eye on the next randy moss but really a WR about 6'3" or taller with a 4.3 to 4.5 40time to come in and run deep on defenses while also being big enough to contest for the air balls(unlike Ginn Jr.). other than that the Niners Receivers do have good hands and RR ability.
Sadly all this fantasy talk is in the hands of the Yorks..

Seriously Niner fans? Cam Newton? Q. What type offense does Auburn run, what conference are they in, what is Newton best known for (aside from questionable solicitation via recruiting and "borrowing" other students tests @ Florida)? A. Spread option, SEC & option football.
Does anyone on this board see any similiarities to Jamarcus Russell, Dennis Dixon and Alex Smith? Thought so.
Drafting Cam Newton would be the single dumbest draft decision in franchise history - which speakds volumes if we judge recent history alone!
We need an NFL ready qb which means Luck, Moore, Dalton and maybe Locker, or a hidden gem (i.e., Flacco). But, I doubt that our college scouts have the skills or confidence to find, evaluate and sell a relatively unknown qb prospect to our current GM and coaching staff. Too "hot" a potato imo.
