Make the playoffs= Continued Mediocrity

For those of you who want to make the playoffs because you are "true 49ers fans", you are not thinking about the consequences of your wish. If we make the playoffs, we take the risk of keeping Alex Smith and Coach Singletary. If those scenarios happen, we will REMAIN MEDIOCRE and possibly give up the opportunity to get a REAL head coach like Jon Gruden.

What would you rather have? A team that makes the playoffs this year, retains Singletary and Smith, and is mediocre for the next 3 years? Or missing the playoffs this year, getting a new head coach and quarterback, and ACTUALLY COMPETING in the playoffs in the near future?

I am willing to sacrifice this year, and start working on a team that will make a run in the playoffs, instead of a team that will hardly squeeze in and get embarassed in the first round in the future. Capisci?

It's the goddamn playoffs. The entire REASON you play a 16 game regular season is to get to the playoffs, because once you're in there anything can happen.


Sheesh...people on here are more interested in their own agendas instead of just wanting the Niners to succeed

Anything can happen when you have a GOOD QUARTERBACK. The Cardinals made a a couple of years ago because they had a hall of fam quarterback. The Steelers made it back in 2005 when they had a GOOD QUARTERBACK. The Giants made it back in 2007 because they had a GOOD QURTERBACK.
