Winning The NFC West does nothing for the future. Well just get murdered in the wildcard game.

it is likely but not a certainty we lost to eagles atlanta and saints by less than 3 points atlanta clements screwed up that int we wouldve won and saints made a blocked foeld goal anyway its not impossible for us to win these are the top 3 teams in the nfc

I agree, I don't think we will get murdered in a wildcard game. WE played close against some of the potential playoff teams..

And Maybe TKo could get some of the other players to feed off of how good he has been playing, we might surprise someone.
I disagree whole-heartedly with this thread.

Learning how to win, and being in the playoffs does great for a team in the long run. It's confidence building and does work to a player's advantage. It helps raise the bar just that much. And not to mention, a playoff team has a better advantage at luring in great free agent talent. All of you wanting perfection and Superbowl or bust, are just living in the past and are spoiled of the 49ers fortunes in the 80s and 90s. Teams don't go from really bad to really good that fast anymore. It takes time to build a franchise.

Some people are arguing that if we lose, Singeltary will get canned and we get a better draft pick. Let me enlighten you. Singletary will most likely be fired, period. And draft picks? Who cares what pick we get? All of you guys drooling over Andrew Luck are in for a long shot. There are plenty of teams worse than the Niners in need of a QB. And drafting a QB in the high in the draft doesn't gaurantee anything. The Niners, of all franchises, should know that.

Bottom line... Cheer for your team. Don't hope that they lose. Forget thinking that you can predict the future because you can't.

Singletary will be fired, Alex Smith will move on and be successful elsewhere, Gore will attempt to come back but will not be the same back, Dixon will share about 50/50 with Gore, Crabtree will turn into the next TO crybaby WR and all will be unpleasant in ninerville.

So Crabtree will end up in the Hall of fame?

Crabtree will be calling for a trade before we know it.

he'll be a Cowboy after his rookie contract is done.

Yeah, maybe he can drop passes over and over again for them.
I think Sing's gone no matter what and we're already out of the race for Andrew Luck.

So bring on the playoffs muthaf*cka!!! We are the perfect trap game at that point.
Making the playoffs should have been the MOST they could expect a rookie HC with an unexperienced team. Hell making the playoffs woud be a MAJOR upstart to a franchise that hasn't been there in seven years. Mike has already given us our best draft class in argubaly over ten years. People can hate on Alex Smith all they want but if you compare his stats against the opposing teams qb in the Saints, Eagles, and Atlanta games the stats are almost identcal. Mark my words if we let Smith go, he will be in Seattle or Arizona driving a steak through our heart twice a year.

Crabtree will be calling for a trade before we know it.

I'm sure he will, just like Vernon was going to be such a huge problem here.

I never thought VD would be an issue.

No but he was acting way worse than Crabtree and then he matured and is a great TE. He's only in his 2nd year, and people act like we should be so quick to dump him when we've given other players on this team more than their fair share of chances.

VD never acted like Crabtree by any means. VD's problem was that he was kind of selfish in his game. He didn't take to the team mentality. Crabtree seems to be like a little kid in that he pouts when he doesn't get his way. Big difference.

You're right Crabtree gets a lot more 15 yard penalties for Unsportsmanlike conduct than Vernon.

I guess you didn't read my post.

Where does Crabtree pout? I didn't see him pout today. He was right there with Morgan to celebrate after Morgan scored. Vernon acted like a little kid for his first couple years that he was here too.

Let's see, when he didn't get top 3 money he pouted and held out, he didn't want to go through TC so he pouted, faked a neck injury and sat out, he wants his brother Troy to be the QB so he pouts about it and drops passes.

VD didn't by any means act in any way like Crabtree has. Like I said, VD didn't buy into the team mentality. He was all about himself(in his game play)

I do agree on him pouting over the money which was complete B.S. He said he was ready to play in the preseason but the team wouldn't let him so he wasn't faking a neck injury.

Are you saying that he intentionally drops passes because Troy isn't in? This is complete B.S.

No I'm saying that he is to busy pouting like a kid that he doesn't concentrate on catching the ball and doing his damn job. You want top 3 money then show me you deserve it!!!

Oh yes we agree! he needs to get his ass into a training camp!

**hugs backontop** (no homo)

I think Crabtree will grow up as a player. Hopefully pretty soon.

Singletary and Alex will both be gone next year, so no worries. We play to win and go as far as our talent can take us. It's been a strange strange year in the NFL and anything could happen in the playoffs. Talentwise, we can play with anyone. We've proved that. Getting destroyed in the playoffs by superior coaching and strategy would doom Dingleberry more than anything, I reckon. Smith might be around as a backup next year, but everyone in the friggin' world knows that he isn't taking us to the Superbowl...ever. Having a REAL QB in our division like Bradford only emphasizes the contrast. Get on the playoff wagon everyone. Yee-hawww!!!

It's funny to see all these fair weather 49ers fans hop on Sam Bradford and any other average QB who only gives his team a fair chance to win but does nothing to make them instantly better. The Rams have a one game lead in the division with a semi-tough schedule to close out the season. Bradford has 17 tds and 12 picks, yet another QB Alex Smith has a better QB rating than.

I think most people on this site are rams, seahawks, and cards fans posing as Niner fans. What kind of fan assumes his team will get destroyed before even stepping on the field. Heck you would think we have been playing as poor as the Panthers or Bengals. We have won 5 of the last 8, which is pretty good for a team with tons of inexperience at the coaching and player levels.
