These are the players I really dont see us signing or keeping. Its a shame these guys have worked their butts off for us but there is definitley going to be teams willing to overspend on our guys and force us into rebuild mode

Alex Smith
Frank Gore- This one is going to be tough on all of us..
Ted Ginn
Brian Westbrook- Sing made him promises he couldnt fulfill
David Carr- What a waste of 3 million..
Troy Smith- Hes gonna find a gig somewhere now.
David Bass- Free agent markets going to be looking for decent centers.
Aubrayo Franklin- Hes gotten steadily better through the year, i dont see us wasting our tag on him again.
Manny Lawson- Right when he starts to develop his contract ends, he will be paid somewhere.
Takeo Spikes- It was a good three years.
Nate Clements- The money stops pouring down to him.
Dashon Goldson- He still wants the money and hasnt shown he deserves it.

After losing such great players, i dont see us coming close to contention for a good 3 years... Thoughts?

u should check some of those players contract status

Im not saying they are all free agents, i dont think we will be keeping them is what i meant to say.. via trade or release

we will not let Gore go and Ginn is doing a great job on KR/PR and we don't haft to pay him much. and just because those are our FAs doesn't mean they are all gone we will prob resign 3 or 4 and if we get a Gruden or another big name coach we will prob get some good FA pick ups

I want them to franchise lawson also but with gore being 28 soon and coming off a big injury, its hard to see him being around next year.. Hopefully we keep him, but if we can get some draft picks for him that would be great. With our offensive line starting to gel we definitely need BASS the BOSS!

You're kidding right? You have a hard time seeing the focal point of our offense (and the only thing that's kept any type of hope for this team alive) on our team next year?

Hes been the "Bellcow" of our offense. Clinton Portis was just the same in denver, and his first few years in washington. I would love to keep Gore, as long as we have someone great to develop "LeMichael James or Ingram" as his replacement.

Okay? What kind of evidence is that that he won't be back? And he is signed through 2011.

And why is LaMichael James or Ingram in quotes?!

Thats who the niners need to draft this year. We dont need to chance ourselves at anothe Qb unless its Luck. Im saying if the front office was smart, they would look into getting a replacement now while our other core players are young, that way we can take the load off of him while still keeping his productivity

All of this is very plausible... but it involves Frank still on the team. But you said you don't think he'll be there? I'm confused.

I agree with drafting a young, talented RB... but to be honest -- I think we need CB and QB help first and foremost. Oh, and some pass-rush. We may be able to pick up a Noel Devine in the 4th or 5th round.

Ive been watching Noel Devine for years.. He would be a great speed back and playmaker. Something our offense definitely needs. Which corners or defensive ends have top 10 quality though.. We certainly missed out on Joe Haden this year.
I do not see Gore being gone next year, i am unfamiliar with his contract info however. I just cant see it.
As for the others i'd like to see Spikes, Ginn jr., stay

Only guys we should we re-sign are Baas and McDonald. Most want to re-sign Manny, but he gives us no pass rush.

Patrick Peterson and Prince Amukamara (sp?) are top 10 talent. Peterson is RAW. I pray we get him or Luck.

you'd think that we wouldn't even have a chance at re-signing some of those players.

Lawson, Baas and Ginn I would try to keep. The others not so much for a variety of different reasons.

Agreed! With Lawson and Baas being the most important. TKO and Nate are signed through 2011. For everyone else, I look at it like "addition by subtraction"
I want lawson to stay. We finally find a guy who's solid and now we want to let him walk. If anyone's walking is PH and his slow ass who sure great hand placement but don't mean s**t if your to slow that they guy can walk right back infront of you before you get to the qb! Baas as well future at center should have had the job 2 years ago rather then playing him at guard!
