Sounds like a ringing endorsement for Alex.

It's a known fact that the players all think Alex is a total joke and don't play for him at all cause they flat out DO NOT like him. They put up with him is the best way to look at it.

Someone put subliminal messages in the film that he always has to go back and watch. It really was a brilliant plan; but now Sing has lost the ability to do basic math. Why else would he run a play call a TO only to run out the clock? He didn't know what 45 seconds actually was anymore.
Chris Weinke, no better yet...Jeff George.

"Mike Johnson did his thing. He did what he was supposed to do. He got everybody the ball. Only thing is, Mike Johnson can’t throw the ball. He can just call plays,”
- Michael Crabtree

this is an ongoing trend of Alex's career. all you have to do is read between the lines. imagine how much they would be saying if the their jobs didn't depend on giving the appearance of supporting the 'savior'.

You mean the one that got blown out by the Seahawks? Regardless, Alex is on the Show me OR Lose me pedestal. These last few games will most likely define the rest of his NFL career.

I don't think any of the QB's on our roster, or any roster in the NFL for that matter, are gonna be much help for this team.

you're link doesn't exactly scream " I think Alex Smith is a joke". The issue here is that Troy Smith is a natural leader and tends to get players to have his back. That is the reason he was let go in Baltimore. There were guys like Ray Lewis and Ed Reed who were backing him over Flacco. The coaching staff let go of Troy Smith to prevent a locker room issue.

Uh what? Frank Gore, Vernon, and Morgan have all gone out of their way to support Alex, where are you getting this from? Or have you created an imaginary universe in your head and are trying to share it with us?

because the guys on defense are the ones that are important for supporting the starting QB. Sorry but when the best players on the OFFENSE support Alex Smith it has to be for a reason.

Yeah, either Barrows or Branch had a very recent article that said Troy actively recruited a clique that backed him. When his losing the job was final he backed off and eventually befriended Flacco, as I understood it. But yeah, for the first 7 weeks, Vernon and Gore (at least) were all bout Alex. The only thing that's changed about him since then is he hasn't played. I like Troy, but be fair.

well our biggest play maker being Vernon Davis still backs Alex Smith and I'm sure it is because he realizes that Alex Smith gives us the best chance to win.
The comparisons between the Smith QB's are faulty. Won-loss records are not the way to go. If you look at our won loss record, we won all games against teams with losing records except Carolina regardless of the QB. We lost all games against teams with winning records. We won the home game and lost the away game against teams now 6-6. The Carolina loss was on Carr and the coaches. We were winning when Alex left.

Alex set us up to win at least 3 more games, but the defense gave it away at the end.

Look at the 3rd down completions since Johnson took over as OC -- high for Alex.

I am not saying that Alex has played well. I am saying that the won loss numbers are misleading. I do think it is right to go back to Alex at this point (or should have been a game earlier). Even though I hate to give Singletary credit for a good decision. Troy has been terrible the last 3 games.
