At QB right now who gives us the best chance to win?

Let me just say this. Coach Sing has sealed his faith with this decision. While Troy may not be the QB we all wants, HE is better suited to lead this team the rest of the way. He alone s NOT responsible for the poor play on Sunday. WHERE WAS THE SECONDARY? Were they even prepared to play? Tackling was horrible and the play calling was not the best either on offense. I guess they are both tied at the hip Alex and Coach Sing. More inconsistent decision to math the inconsistent play. All I got to say is the Cowboys and Broncos have REAL owners; we have pretenders.

the point is that Troy doesn't know the entire playbook so making adjustments is limited. Alex knows the entire playbook so the ability to make offensive adjustments is wide open as well as the initial play calling.

Alex Smith is clearly better pocket passer and with no Frank gore he gives us best chance to win out last 4 games go 8-8 win the west and make playoffs

Actually they are great #3 QBs. They are both good at putting together a great half of football. As #3 QBs that is all that will be asked of them.

Better suited my ass, he knows like 8 plays. The defenses have realized this and shut those plays down.

Alex Smith will start the game and probably want wing it a little more to prove he can and throw a couple int's.

I'm not quite jiving with the idea that a) Troy Smith holds onto the ball for a really long time in the pocket and b) that he still misses receivers who are wide open (remember when the announcers drew up the incomplete to Ginn where they had Crabtree in the middle on the slant? I wasn't pleased with that).

Then again, Alex Smith's mind is programmed to do things that he perceives to be "right" and "automatic." Not necessarily what you want when the play breaks down, now is it?

Plus Alex turns it over, Troy may take sacks but he protects the ball far better.

Everyone knew no matter who SF had a QB the GB game was a big fat L waiting to happen. You can put the TB loss on Troy but the play calling was vintage Sing/Raye.

We are f**ked either way! Troy looked good early because he took risks. The coaching staff does not want him to take risks they want a game manager who plays in the pocket and checks the ball down. They want Alex Smith

The problem is game managers do not win enough games in 21st century football, this is a passing league we need a passer. With this pathetic group of p***y coaches we need a gunsling QB let lose to have any chance at all, because the quickest way to lose a game is to follow Singltary's game plan!


We need Troy off the chain, not Troy with his nuts in check!

Even if the 49ers lose all the rest of the games, it will still cost them AT LEAST their 2012 #1 pick plus an additional pick to move into Carolina's spot to draft Luck. For a team that needs as many players yet as the 49ers, they can't afford to get into that derby. They would be better off to hope that Newton or Mallet fall to them at the #5 slot.

Con: has to extend plays because he tends to not see wide open receivers, holds on to the ball entirely to long and takes to many sacks, does not know the entire playbook.
