Takeo played a great game. He made 17 tackles, including assists, and knocked down a pass way down field. Patrick did not play that well. I don't think they keyed on him more than other teams have. He looked sluggish. He didn't make mistakes but his play was average.

It's normal for good players to have bad games once in a while.

Pack had a game plan
the league found out about his abilities this year they game plan around him
thats why he has been held on check this year
but yet having a "so called" off year & he is already over the 100 tackle mark
u cant stop a beast only hope to contain him

If we had a good DL it would make it harder for teams to take him out of plays.

Really? What's with the knock on Willis threads lately... He's been an absolute superstar the last 2 years, he has a game where his name isn't called every play and you guys are all over him... Give the guy a break, he's one of the few bright spots on the team!

If he had a good DT in front of him it would have helped. It's not the entire Line. It's the MIDDLE of the damn unit. ABF used to take on 2 or 3 Blockers all by himself. Now he takes on one. There is nothing wrong with Bam Bam. He like any great MLB, needs a solid DT in front of him. McDonald is a joke. Sitting out Training Camp killed ABFs' ability to get that big multiyear deal that he wanted and we wasted $8 mil on him this season by Franchising him. He shoulda been cut and a serviceable replacement found the minnit his agent gave them any indication that he was going to hold out. Hell the only thing that didn't go true to form was that he hasn't gotten that season ending injury early in the season. Justin Smith almost did.

Well at least we know we need a solid DT. Because that's that guy on this Defense that holds it all together.

Sadly this is going to happen when it's the Defense that gets punched like Rice Paper Windows and can't keep the wind from howling through the holes.
People blamed the DBs' and to a minor extent I agree. But with zero push into the Backfield for most of the game and nobody home to keep Rodgers contained the DBs' were hung out to dry. Rodgers had all day to idetify the read and let er rip. Wouldn't have had that with a solid DT in the middle and TKO allowed to back up Bam Bam. Sadly we're gonna get ripped by San Diego and taken out of any shot of contention that we had, Sing will get one more year and we'll once again be a joke next year. Wish Vernon punched that fool in his head today.

Really any good linebacker needs a good or great DT. Like the Ravens they have Haloti Ngata anchoring their D-Line who can take on many O-Linemen to let the Raven Linebackers to go after the QB. Compound with bad D-Line, weak linebacker core all the offense have to do is put most of their focus on Willis. If the Niners want to help out the def get some help for Willis on the D-Line and get Linebackers as good as Willis or close to him.

Assuming which ever Head Coach takes over this team will keep this same 3-4 defensive scheme you mean?.....

I'm pretty sure Willis was playing hurt. I'm not sure if anyone recalls last game, but he did get up favoring a shoulder after one play - I recall the announcers talking about it... Anyone remember this, or was I just having some sort of nightmare???

he is the main bright spot on the team, so if he doesn't shine during a game everyone notices and complains
when the best part of something is missing, you notice
