They aren't very good. Crabtree is pretty good although not great. We lack speed at all WR positions except Ginn and he is more a return guy. Plus we don't have a real big WR like Vincent Jackson.

I could see the Rams and Seahawks strongly pursing Vincent Jackson in the offseason. Rams would very much like to give Sam Bradford a weapon.

Unfortunately Bradford is a weapon, a big time wideout would just add the cape to the Clark Kent that is Sam Bradford. Damn the Rams, they had their time in this division, as did the Cards and Seachickens. It's our turn again now!

It won't be our turn again until the Yorks give the team back to Eddie D.

I see our wideouts open all the time and the s**tty QB's miss them.

Just like they pointed out on NFC playbook this week. Showing Crabtree wide open on multiple plays but Troy Smith not seeing him and holding the ball too long.

I think you posted this engulfed in your manlove and without any real reason or knowledge about what you're saying.

THIS

thank you

Crabs is playing fine, once we get a legit QB/system he will be great

Still our others WRs

THIS. Troy is ok now and can get better or this is all he is got. We need legit O line and Legit qb and then Crabs will shine. VD still is our best weapon like he showed today YET we dont use him. I dont get it, I just dont get what these guys are thinking not using our best weapon at receiver.

Dingleberry and this coaching staff not the sharpest tools in the shed... Why use best weapons? Makes too much sense.

We overrated Troy as niner fans. he might be able to make all the throws, but he still doesn't have the accuracy and decision making to be a successful QB in the NFL
Just imagine Dez and Crabs on the same team. Could have had an awesome WR core.

Our recievers suck because our QB's can't hit the broad side of a barn.

You guys are hilarious. New England won Super Bowls and so did the 49ers in years past with "no-name" receivers. The core problem is the people designing and calling the plays. Add to this poor coaching by Sullivan and there you have it - a sucky WR corps that can't seem to get open.

If Sullivan is still using Zeigler in practices to "show" other WRs how to run routes and how to play WR, you have to ask yourself WTF? Why wasn't this guy on the field if he's the most reliable route runner. It's s**t like that I've read over the years that just doesn't add up.

Jerry Rice, John Taylor, Brent Jones are no name receivers?

LOL

He's referring to guys like Freddie Solomon, Dwight Clark, Mike Wilson - those guys. Solid, productive guys who provided a more than a few great games, but were not elite prospects coming out of college, nor had multiple All-pro years.

He's right. We don't have a system that promotes or emphasizes a precision passing game, a system that promotes precision route running, timing, accuracy, deception - all the hallmarks of what our team USED TO be known for.

Bill Walsh, Mike Holmgren, Mike Shanahan, even Mike McCarthy - given time - would have made something out of this receiver corps AND the QB that has to throw to them.

yup, our entire system is flawed, that's the biggest problem here.
Crabs is fine when he has a legit system. I am not happy with the effort Morgan gives. And Ginn is not used right at all which is no surprise.

I've been saying all season, as I tried to defend Alex, that our receivers were as much of the problem as his OL and the playcalling. Now, because Troy is in there, some of you fans, who refused to find blame anywhere except with Alex, are now noticing these areas. At least the scales are finally falling from your eyes.
During the PITT-BALT game tonight, we saw how valuable A. Boldin was to BALT. Did we sign him as a FA? No, because we keep our team salaries way under the salary cap. We can jump all over Sing (where it belongs) but never forget that most all of our problems are because of the Yorks - stupid hirings and tight wallets.

WTF Does that mean??

Fitzgerald in Arizona was considered the BEST WR last 2 seasons. now are we suppose to think he sucks too all of a sudden..."I JUST SAYIN IT'S NOT FUNNY"
We don't have the scheme to get the ball to the receivers /thread
wr is a position that depends on qb play. Jerry Rice couldnt do what he did without Joe Montana or Steve Young we have talented wr and the best te in the league. We refuse to use them prime example with 1 time out and 46 seconds left before halftime. Common sense would dictate 2 minute drill try to get ball in field goal range or may be another td. Troy Smith just threw 66 yard td pass to Vernon Davis longest pass of the season. Instead singletary/mike johnson decided to run clock out with westbrook running plays why run the clock out your losing by 1 point stay aggressive. We had 1 time out left petal to the metal. I hate conservative play calling in a game we had to have there was no sense of urgency our wr our not the problem the OC and HC will not give our passing offense a chance to succeed because all we wanna do is run the damn ball. We need offensive minded head coach like John Gruden or Mike Holmgren to bring home the west coast offense invented by Bill Walsh in San Francisco we won 5 rings running this offense if it aint broke dont fix it. It made me sick to my stomach watching Green Bay running the west coast offense kicking the our butts with our own offense that we dont run anymore
I have always felt Morgan was wayyy-overrated. The only reason he sticks around in this offense is because of his blocking skills. Ginn is not too great either. Crabtree still shows sparks of a great reciever, although he may work better as a solid #2. Ziegler needs to be on the field!
