And that's like taking DHB over Crabtree, Maclin and Harvin.
Is that you, Al?

Yep all the Yorks fault
It's just not that simple.
Its actually pretty simple, they are the owners and they hired him, they also hired Nolan and Ericksson before him. They set the tone, therefore its their fault. You see how simple it is.

I'll answer your question.
"Why is Singletary still coach?"
Because if you elevate anyone on staff to head coach mid-season (Manusky, Johnson, Solari), you cannot demote them after the season is over back to their original role. It just doesn't work that way. If you elevate Manusky and decide you want a new head coach in January, you'd have to fire Manusky in order to hire a new person.
Singletary is still coach because the rest of our staff is either not expendable or not prepared. We gain very little in firing Singletary now with what looks to be a doomed season regardless of who on staff is called "head coach."
Dave Campo is still on the Cowboys staff after being HC....
Rare exception.
To what? You claimed it wasn't possible.
How can there be a "rare exception" to something that is impossible?

What you are talking about rarely happens. Please don't pretend it is a common occurrence, because it's not.

When Petrino was fired from Atlanta, Emmitt Thomas was promoted to Interim Head Coach. That offseason Mike Smith was hired to take over the Falcons and he decided to keep Thomas on staff in his previous role of defensive backs coach.
The bolded part of his post is also untrue. The main issue with Singletary is his philosophies from 1985 are holding this team back in terms of game planning and his lack of X's and O's knowledge is doing the same. Firing him now and replacing him with a coordinator or assistant who lives in the present day and knows a little something about X's and O's (meaning pretty much any coordinator or positions coach) will eliminate both issues.
It's my opinion this season is lost. Your opinion could be that it is not. I just don't see us making the playoffs regardless of who is head coach at this point, hence why I feel a coaching change would be detrimental to the future of this organization. You risk losing Manusky or Joshnson if you elevate them to head coach. They might not be around next year anyway, but still.
Also, I wrote my original post when we were 1-6. Things look a little rosier at 2-6, but I still think there is little gained by firing Singletary. This season, in my opinion, is already lost.

But to sum it up in apn easy way
He sucks...
lol Yeah after the carolina loss and all this talk about Singletary being bold starting Troy Smith. I couldnt help I had to vent because while I love Singletary the man and inspirational speaker and LB coach....Singletary the head coach is terrible and we need a complete front office/coaching shake down. Even if some how we make the playoffs, he still needs to go.
Couldn't agree more!!! Sing needs to go after this season! I like him as a person but he needs to go.

Singletary is a complete joke.
He's obviously in way over his head. He cannot even answer questions from the media. He has to "look at the film" to dodge every single question. Rah rah speeches don't win football games, actual strategy and coaching do.
It's nice to say s**t like "hit them in the mouth", but at gametime you should actually have a plan. This guy is too stupid and doesn't understand any of this. Fire this clown, he's an embarrassment to the entire organization.

I agree Singletary needs to go. The problem is if when we make a change this offseason, the new coach may not be able to actually coach the players because of the CBA.
