lol Yeah after the carolina loss and all this talk about Singletary being bold starting Troy Smith. I couldnt help I had to vent because while I love Singletary the man and inspirational speaker and LB coach....Singletary the head coach is terrible and we need a complete front office/coaching shake down. Even if some how we make the playoffs, he still needs to go.

I feel you I think errbody does in the zone it sucks though because with that win he sadly bought himself the year imo so we get to watch and listen to the same s**t and its never ever going to change, at the same time its a win and as sad as it sounds were two games back. Still wouldn't be opposed to geetting a top 5 pik lol....but yes short of NFC title game sing has to go regardless

I'll answer your question.
"Why is Singletary still coach?"
Because if you elevate anyone on staff to head coach mid-season (Manusky, Johnson, Solari), you cannot demote them after the season is over back to their original role. It just doesn't work that way. If you elevate Manusky and decide you want a new head coach in January, you'd have to fire Manusky in order to hire a new person.
Singletary is still coach because the rest of our staff is either not expendable or not prepared. We gain very little in firing Singletary now with what looks to be a doomed season regardless of who on staff is called "head coach."

I would take the top five pick man in a heart beat. This is going to be another wasted yr. Our number one pick needs to go after a QB. Luck/Locker/Mallet/Pryor Id rather Luck. I just hope Jed drops his pride and actually give up control to someone who knows what they are doing.

I understand that....I was just trying to state that Singletary shouldn't have even been the coach this season. Nothing the man has done makes sense. Our organization is so messed up. I just hope we correct it this offseason.

When Petrino was fired from Atlanta, Emmitt Thomas was promoted to Interim Head Coach. That offseason Mike Smith was hired to take over the Falcons and he decided to keep Thomas on staff in his previous role of defensive backs coach.
