The two roughing the qb penalties

Orten DUCKED into both of those plays, he was rewarded for pussing out!

For a name of "Dominate" you sure are advocating for a panzy call. I mean, WTH are you trying to defend? Manny's hit on Orton was fine. That was NOT the intent of the league when they handed out these rules. Lawson didn't even try to lay it on Orton when he made that hit.

Those were some of the worst roughing the pass penalties that I can remember.

Ducked into the sack and then gets called for a penalty. It was even more sad seeing Orton pull a Tom Brady and b***h for a flag. I can't wait for a new Commish.

Hypothetical: If a QB is in a 4th and long in the playoffs and needs to convert, what's stopping them from purposely initiating illegal contact? Like say, headbutting the defender. Any provision for that in the rules?

Why does everyone always act like Patrick Willis lays bone-crushing hits all the time? He's made some nice hits since he entered the league, but he's usually a form tackler. People act like he's out there injuring people every game or throwing Ronnie Lott-like hits regularly.

Anyway, the players being bigger, stronger and faster than ever has nothing to do with a BS penalty for simply touching the QB's helmet. He was touched on the back of his helmet with a player's arm - and Orton is the one that caused it. That's not going to injure the damn QB. Manny was about to get the sack when that clown Orton decided to throw himself to the ground and Manny had to get a hand on him to be sure he got the sack. What the hell is he supposed to do? It wasn't a hard blow at all, and it was unintentional. The calls were a damn joke.

The biggest issue is ORTON is the one who made contact with Lawson's arm.

then why dont they play two hand touch? orton was gonna get hit clean by lawson and he ducked so his head would touch manny's arms and he got a penalty for it. this is ridiculous.

You cant hit the QB in the head. It`s a good rule. I dont like the call but the rule is sound, Sh!t happens!

if they dont want QBs getting hit they should say theyre sacked on contact and completely kill football all together. with all the new contact rules offensive players need to be better actors than players. i agree they shouldnt be able to kill the guys but a little hit like that to get a penalty was ridiculous.

The rule reads you cant make contact with a blow to the head. So I can understand some of the calls even though I dont agree with them. What about the Vicious hit Manny had on Orton when he came free up the middle. That was a big time hit yet no flag because it was clean. The qbs get their asses kicked on nearly every play. I`d like to see you try it!

They shouldn't be playing QB if they can't handle the abuse.

People don't box if they can't take a punch.

These were very bad calls which could have changed the course of the game. They were booed big time by the crowd. Interestingly, neutral fans were almost as incensed as we were.

both calls were total BS.

when Orton ducks as Lawson is diving at him, you cant fault Lawson for having his arm where Ortons shoulders were the sec. before.

football is a CONTACT sport. the QB is a player on the field. if someone cracks their helmet into the QB head on, or rolls up on his knees, throw the flag. but the crap they call now is a joke.

As much as it would slow down the game, unnecessary roughness penalties should all be reviewed. Half the helmet to helmet hits are because the offensive player lowered his head a fraction of a second before impact. Also when a player loses it and punches or kicks someone it was because he was returning the favor to someone who did it to him first.
