I was on bart this morning while reading this.....I couldnt believe what i was reading.

Option 3:
We're traveling to London and starting a third string QB who has only been with the team for 8 weeks, has barely had any practice reps, has thrown 13 passes in the last 2 1/2 seasons, and doesn't even know the entire offense yet.
The sensible solution would be to scale back the offense to a manageable number of plays to try to guarantee he plays well and that at least everyone else always knows what they're doing.
The preposterously boneheaded solution would be to install new plays that nobody on the team has practiced yet ON TOP of the plays that T. Smith doesn't even have a full grasp of yet.
Maybe you start to work in new plays once T. Smith gets comfortable in the offense. Doing that right now however, on a week in which we're trying to deal with the added variables of being in Europe and with a QB who hasn't played and who doesn't know the regular offense yet, is preposterous. Seriously.
Also, fwiw, REALLY not a good idea to bring up Nate Davis in this thread. He's had 2 1/2 years to learn the basic offense (even all the way down to simple line calls) and hasn't done it. I can guarantee this is one of the reasons why not a single other team wanted him and he's on our PS right now.

I believe but I could be wrong but Troy also knows some of the playbook. And Davis wasn't cut per se, he was demoted and that's all on him. You earn your chances and part of earning that is putting in work.

Yeah, but Johnson likes the kid and Johnson is the one who knows offense.. Sing doesn't know and has spent a lot of time showing us he doesn't know dick about offense... And yes Johnson wasn't the OC when Davis was released and he was released.. Released/cut, pretty much the same thing right? But it seemed like Sing was the only person really down on Davis. It didn't seem like Davis didn't work hard at all.. Could this be more of Sing's expecting too much? I mean you have a 1st year player who is young, learning what it takes to be in the NFL, much less an NFL QB, all while having a learning disability... I'm not saying this guy is the next Manning or Brees, but with all that and his potential, I just don't get it... As well as most fans.....
Davis, has had almost 2 off-seasons and a rookie year under his belt, I doubt Smith knows more of the playbook then Davis...
