No simple solution? Baloney. Fire bigmike(BM), the minute he touches down in London, and let MJ and manusky run O and D for rest of yr. At least they know the fundamentals. Our LB HC doesn't know football. He just doesn't . Simple solution. We have no GM, so why no HC? Don't tell me manusk and MJ are better with BM here. They aren't , so fire his azz already. Tonite would be just fine. Then let him clean out his office and sneak out of town, never to be heard from again. 9ers are playing with fire here by keeping him on. He has gotten our QB hurt, has demoralized this team and he is calling game plans on O and D. Get him outta here and let guys with some knowledge finish out the season, then hire a HOFO, eg, Parcells. There are others. Loomis at NO, Pioli...just offer enough money and you might get a bite. But don't let Jed go picking a coach. Yorks have a 100% crappy result doing that. Let a HOFO do it at end of yr...but fire BM now.

Again that is a very simplistic answer that is very wrong. Their offense had the ball for 37 minutes. Our offense had the ball for 23. If we gave Peyton Manning that time he would throw for 600 yards.

our defense could be pretty good, if our dbs could learn to turn their freakin heads around...that comes down to coaching

It will take much more than firing Mike Singletary to get us to the playoffs. I personally think we should have fired him a couple of games ago. But there are numerous issues involved. We're a very talented and very bad football team who just lost to the worst team in football. I'm all for a coach like Gruden to come in and revamp our coaching staff but the bottom line is that we have numerous areas to address this offseason. And if we have numerous areas to address this offseason than obviously the solution isn't that simple.
We lost this game because David Carr sucks. All you b***hes on here were clamoring for Carr.. he sucks donkey balls. At least Alex Smith CAN be good, he just can´t be consistent. You know as well as I know that if it was Alex Smith running the 2 minute offense at the end of the game, we would´ve marched right down the field and scored.

The reason why Alex is so inconsistent is cuz Sing refuses to play to his strengths and micro manages the offense. I was the biggest Sing supporter there was, but he needs to go right now. Wouldn't it be just friggin HILARIOUS if the Niners offense suddenly gets going once MJ doesnt have Sing breathing down his neck.

You aren't going to win many games generating 250 yards of offense, which has been about what the 49ers usually get in most games.
I'm all aboard the "Singletary's gone after this year" train! Here are my complaints:

Joe Staley should be playing RT
Anthony Davis should be playing LT
We need to draft a replacement for Rachal
Why Ziegler isn't on the field more often is beyond me!
Westbrook and Gore or either with Dixon both on the field could create mismatches!
Smith rarely has time to throw, he's running for his life half the time!
Our offense is to predictable
Ginn gives up on passes to often
Our offense is way to predictable and as soon as we get a small lead we start playing soft rather then attacking all game! We need to go for the throat more often!
Singletary is too stubborn
Manusky is dialing up enough pressure
Bowman is on the field to often
CB's play to far off the WR's
Clement's especially could be so much more physical during the first 5 yards because he's a physical player
Franklin f**ked up missing training camp and RJF should be rotated in more often
Goldson doesn't offer much help over the top
Mays need to go practice catching because I've counted 4 or 5 possible picks dropped
Willis should be sent to blitz more often
and I'm sure I left something out!

If Singletary is gone next year I'm hoping Gruden comes in. I hope they resign Smith even if he's not the starter because he will be a dope ass #2 QB. I hope we pick up some fresh DB's early next draft, and get back to being the 49ers I grew up with

our defense is average, certainly nothing to be proud of.
I have been a Niner's Fan all my life. In fact, it was the Montana-Young era that I first started interested in the game of football.

I think all these bashings on the Niner's coaching staff is NOT going to solve the problem.

Yeah, I think MS needs to realize his team is falling apart. He needs to come to term that the Niners is 90% NOT going to make the playoff. For them to make it to the playoff, they would need to win all 9 games for the rest of the season to have a 10-6 record.

Do any of you see the Niners winning 9 consecutive games for the remainder of this season? I didn't think so.

But the least, MS can do is to bring out NATE DAVIS. For all we know, he could be just as a bust as both Carr and Alex Smith. But at least, we, da FANS would know what NATE DAVIS can do as a starter.

Today, we know Carr is NOT the answer. And I already knew like long long long time ago that Alex Smith has always been a bust.

I was actually happy to see Alex Smith went down.

Lets face it.

When was the last time you see Alex Smith can stay in the pocket and out maneuvered his opponents? Smith is as good as the O.line.

The Niners was great in the 80s and beginning of 90s coz they got 2 awesome QBs.

So lets bring NATE DAVIS out and see what he can do.

SOMEONE, PLZ get him a plane ticket to fly to the UK for the Denver game.

If Davis is as bust as the others, at least the Niners know they need to start looking for QB in the next year draft.

WHAT MORE is there to lose to bring NATE DAVIS out?

Do it for the fans plz!

I think moving Staley to RT and Davis to LT might be a good idea.

Alex has been inconsistent his entire career, not just under sing. And thinking he would have lead us to a score is like saying we're not out of the playoffs at 1-6 right now.
We are going to have very high draft picks next year so we should unload our 2 rounder for Vick (and get a new coach). Sadly, I don't think we can wait 3 years for another rook QB to develop. If we had a good coach and decent QB, this team would be ready to go. A good coach is not hard to find. Just open the check book. A good QB is a much different story though.

Erickson to Nolan to Singletary, WTF!
are you saying we are the perfect storm of crap??

I've been a 49er fan my entire life. This season has been the most disappointing one I have endured. Until today I have truly believed that we still had a legitimate shot to win the NFC west. I no longer buy into this illusion.

I see a number of variables when I watch our games. I'm new to the webzone but the majority of our posts seem to be kneejerk reactions as if one change will change our season. Bring in Nate Davis. Bring in Troy Smith. Bring in David Carr. Come on. The 49ers have some serious problems. A simplistic solution will not solve them all.

Our first problem begins with our coaching. We have been outcoached all year. (Especially against KC and Seattle) Our philosophy is similar to the 90s Cowboys. That philosophy states that we are going to run our gameplan and I dare you to stop it. The problem is that we don't have the players to do this. The Kansas City Chiefs run a gameplan that's virtually impossible to predict. I remember Mark Trestmans gameplan against the Cowboys when Grback was subbing for the injured young. We were completely unpredictable. We threw when they thought we would run. Vice versa. Footballs a chessmatch. And unfortunately our coaches must suck at chess.

The second issue is that we seriously overestimated our team this offseason. We signed David Carr and William James. That was our answer to put our team over the top. David Carr is horrible. He wasn't prepared to play today. Alex isn't horrible but he's not that good either. Our quarterback dictates how good our team can be. We have weapons. If Crabtree played for the Giants he would be putting up Hakeem Nicks numbers. If Vernon played for San Diego he would be amazing. And Frank Gore is one of the best backs I have ever watched. I've actually seen posts asking if he is finished. Give me a break.

The solution will not come this year unfortunately. We will win some games but we will not become great with our current leadership. This offseason we need to hire a experienced coach who will hire a proven coaching staff. We need to draft a quarterback. Our line will be much improved. We need to improve our cornerbacks and get younger. Our defense is pretty good. They just aren't getting any support from our offense.

Difficult problems will not be solved using simplistic solutions. We have a ways to go.

This is a good post man. I was at the game yesterday. What I saw was, they're rookie wide recievers were open all day against our db's, and we couldn't get a pash rush to save our life. The nate clements sack was awesome though, and goldson was making some great plays....

If smith goes out and carr plays, we wont win another game....quote me on that...
Singletary read this thread and here's his take on it:

"Whoa! Whoa! Wait guys, I'm still trying to figure out how to jump the player in checkers."
