The Niners need to be continuosly working their roster, trying to improve. For Singletary to say that he is OK with his OLB's and not go for Merriman is foolish. He needs to look at the present OLB's/
Lawson- last year of contract
Laboy- one year deal
Brooks- not an every down OLB yet.
Haralson- just ok this season.
Now will adding in Merriman improve over any of the above? I think the answer is yes. If sold on the OLB's, one can cut another position, ie demetric evans to add in merriman.
Its all about improving the roster and getting impact players.

Sing cant say they want or are gonna go after Merriman because he is still under contract with the Chargers. That would be tampering

I'm sorry but to my knowledge Merriman hasn't been released yet. ANd the fact that Singletary says he is happy with the roster now, means anything can happened when a certain player (i.e. Merriman) is available. What do you expect him to say, yeah we will sign Merriman and get fined by the league??
