Over Under on a Denny Green/Jim Mora type Melt Down from Singletary this year

I say that it's pretty feasible that he have a meltdown towards the media. He wears his emotions on his sleeve and has shown flashes that he is fed up with them. He doesn't know how to speak professionally towards them when being slammed with thought provoking and loaded questions. As a head coach, he needs to be able to handle the media, but he is not doing a good job at it.

I thought it would have happened already. The fact that we beat the Raiders may delay the inevitable, but we know he's a knee jerk reaction type of guy, who has been dancing around good questions by the media for some time.

Lets look at some possible knee jerk indicators of a meltdown:

• Dropping Pants
• Sending Vernon to the locker room
• Benching O'Sullivan for Hill
• Firing Martz
• Benching Hill for Smith
• Getting O'Donnel re-located off of his show all he was trying to do was set him up to look good, and Singletary Clearly didn't recognize it
• Saying Rayes job is safe
• Firing Raye
• Arguing with Smith on the Sidelines
• Not handling the medias questions in various KNBR interviews the way a headcoach should
• Arguing with Officials when he said the #1 thing he learned as a head coach is no matter how much you argue with officials, they'll never change their mind

I can go on, but these all are things not typical of a head coach who has his mind right. He is flustered, in over his head, promoted for who is was, not what he has done in this league. It's only a matter of time before he hangs himself.

I think if we suffer another major blowout loss that we should have won, which with this coaching staff is very much possible, he will have a Catharsis during a press conference, interview, or on the sideline, a meltdown, and that will be the end of it... His days are numbered as it is... but I definitely see ALOT of Coors Light Commercial material on the horizon soon.

If we lose next week, you'll see it. And then hopefully he'll get canned and we can start winning on a consistent basis.

ok enough with the inside jokes... in all seriousness... from what you've seen from other HC's that have had meltdowns... do you see Singletary as the type of personality that can have one that would cost him his job?

One of these days, if I wake up on the wrong side of the bed, I will merge ALL THE THREADS in NT into one master thread and call it "GOTCHA!"
